So October 1st. I managed to press in 350 hands. I don’t know if Karma is trying to encourage me to follow through with my October push but I averaged almost a dollar a hand throughout this small sample. Anyway. I’m off to a good go away. Now let’s see if I can squander it somehow - I’m sure it’s doable. The big problem with the plan in general is the fact that I will undergo to play an awful lot of hands but if I can get a few solid hours in on the weekends it should be doable.

"An Online Poker Update: I Probably Can't Make a Career Out of It" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 22:58:44

But I'm up $250. You see. I bought in for $300. I have $550 in there now. I had $650 in there yesterday. I lost $100 where I flopped a set slow-played the break and a competitor hit a bigger set on the turn. I undergo been taking beats like this non-stop. But I've won huge bets on sports. I've won about $700 on sports bets. So you can do the math poker-wise. To recap the four big wins it was the over in Cowboys-Bears ($100) under in WVU-USF ($100). Bucs over Panthers ($200). Giants over Eagles ($366.67). I don't think this career is going to work out. I think I'm just going to have to blog about my genitals until I can make enough money doing that. Because that's what advertisers like alter? Genitals stories. I'm thinking about just making my next sports bet a $550 one and cashing out some of it if it wins. Because I'm sure the hot move I'm on with football is going to end soon. I'm so screwed. I'm at a job I have to quit soon a job where I'm going to have to inform my new impress how to do things. I haven't won enough money to retire playing online poker yet and it doesn't be likely that I will. And I undergo two interviews this week neither of which I feel like ordain amount to anything. And what is up with HR departments? At the measure I've published this I had one HR label me while I was sleeping. I called them back an hour later. No say no label back all day. The next day same HR displace calls me while I'm in the consume. Again. I call back right away. No say no call back that day. Then a different HR place calls me while I'm asleep. Again. I call approve no answer no call approve that day. What in the hell are HR populate doing? desire do they set aside a 20-minute window for phone calls to prospective employees then just ignore the telecommunicate and voicemail all day? I convey you work in HUMAN RESOURCES. I am both a human and someone who has resources. Shouldn't that be your No. 1 priority?Oh come up. At least I'm not constantly dealing with weirdo girls or being forced to undergo surgery on my finger. Oh act.... How long is the drive to AC again? If you're as solid and disciplined a poker player as you say it shouldn't be a stretch to say you could net around $200 per 8 hour session. $800 a week on average if you hit it up 4 visits a week. And this is playing the look for infested 50-100$ NL tables. I only displace 36 grand a year in my current gig but last couple years I've made about 8 grand a year going once and twice a week to the casino.. just the 50-10 NL game. I've open it's much more reliable and productive than online poker where crazy beats happen once every half hour. Granted it's not exactly the safe route to believe on poker income but if you're good enough tie that to some cake-walk part measure job and you're not so bad off. And it's a hell of a lot exceed than the 9-5. stef -- is lemonade rest label for sex shop? rs27 -- just like with anything discipline is key it's not like i bet pats-bengals just to bet it but yeah this money is as good as bodog's anon -- don't think i haven't rolled those figures around in my continue the control is two hours so it's four hours a day on the road five days a week that's a lot of wear and tear on the go plus you have to factor the cost of gas food parking. $800 a week becomes even less when you believe your overhead plus what about health insurance? what if i needed surgery on a busted finger for instance? then what?i feel desire i'm kramer and your neumann and we're trying to figure out a way to control alter mountain dew bottles to michigan. I've been "reading" [read: [hahaha construe] "listening to on audiobook"] Jonathan Ames' essay collection I Love You More Than You experience His writing reminds me of yours. undergo you ever construe him? You should. It seems desire you're about to have a lot of free measure. He's written a lot of books. This essay I just "construe" called "Troubles With Cockroaches and Young Girls" especially reminded of you. He writes about um sex neuroses going to the bathroom his penis his sex control and he is funny. If I knew anything about what to do when the benevolent g-ds of employment and finances laughed at a person. I'd offer you advice but clearly I don't. Howevs. I desire lemonade. Last night in my dream my brother ordered a Lynchburg Lemonade at a bar. I don't experience what that is really. I guess Jonathan Ames probably makes a living but he might not. He has a lot of books. Anyhow you could be the next him. Yeah if the control is two hours there would definitely be some overhead. The only way to compensate would be fewer trips and longer sessions.. but that's a bit more tricky and makes it harder to employ a strict system. There's no free parking in AC? The casinos in Detroit undergo free parking with validation. Anyway... I'd agree insurance is the biggest issue. If I were you I might look for something part-time that provided decent coverage and give the pokering a shot. You're young single.. fuck it right? If I grew any balls I'd cut approve on my real-job hours and apply more to the tables. I'd believe it a great life-style pre-marriage/kids.. doing what you love always is isn't it? Are you using a continue hunter? Because if not. I highly suggest you do. Oh man there's a column in Cosmo (yes. I construe it - along with Glamour. Jane and every bridal mag ever made. I also construe lave and conditioner bottles toothpaste tubes etc - when I'm on the bowl)where a single man writes about his experiences with women and dating - you would undergo been phenomenastic at it. Anyway forbid your bitching and alter your apartment. It smells. riese -- you lost me at reading anon -- it's a great lifestyle kids marriage or otherwise why do populate get married again?riese -- is it just a big wheel of cease? because i like cease stef -- i should warn you i undergo a very dirty mind when it comes to codes crystal -- that is crap label me freaking back already riese -- nice shoulder jenn -- wasn't head hunter your nickname in college? and my apartment smells great just washed the sheets too get over here now. Lozo if I had money or a job. I would send you a schedule of this guy. Seriously I challenge you to let me experience what you're doing that's more important than reading this schedule. It would convey a lot to me. Look there's a McSweeny's link on your little column. He writes there. I'm trying to help. You know my livejournal user icon was my shoulder. I just remembered.

"The life of a poker pro Sept. 26t ? Oct. 2nd" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 12:32:28

It’s been a pretty good week overall. Poker has gone ok the stock market has done pretty good (thank you neteller for releasing money when the market was getting hit). Our renovation at domiciliate is nearing completion with a few snags. My new play handicap as of oct. 1st is 6.3 a big act down of almost 5 strokes but there is one score in there that is wrong from the tournament I played last month they put in a 75 for me one round not sure where that came from. My biggest frustration this week I anticipate is computer related. I got a new computer custom built by a affiliate in Toronto. CA – the system is very good with top of the lie components and was approximately 1,900 for just the box. It does bring home the bacon pretty come up and is blazing abstain but there is this weird configuration issue where the number keys stop being recognized after I compete for a desire time without rebooting. I just get the ! for 1 the @ for 2 and so on it’s desire my shift key is depressed but its not. Also whenever this happens the function keys don’t bring home the bacon. I have to reboot and start again and I still don’t experience what is causing it. I get this weird loud go every 15-30 minutes mostly when typing (I did try a second keyboard yesterday still the same issue) and then maybe after a 3-4 hour poker session I get the phantom shift lock. The other thing that is weird is that sometimes when I reboot my computer the BIOS settings get lost – I stopped using the APC for my power and that seems to help but it comfort happens just a bit less. I have to reload the defaults and then boot up. ARghhhhhhhhhhhhh! Computer bend for sure. The firm that built it wants me to delete the whole hardrive and instal windows. I’m not looking forward to this – it took my a beat day to load all my programs and set everything up the way I like it. breathe. In better news – the weather here is comfort beautiful and golf is going well. My putting could probably use some improvement but I’m hitting the ball exceed than I think I ever have. I’m finding the center of the clubface more often and I’m hitting all my clubs farther. I’ve basically added 20 yards to my woods and 5-15 yards to my irons. Weird but I’ll take it – it’s not so much that I have big gaps inside 125 anyways and I carry 4 wedges so not a huge issue. I comfort have a beat swing wedge at 80. 95. 110 and 125 so that’s pretty good. If I can start rolling it I might undergo a chance to win my bet that I will be 0.0 list in two years. Still a longshot of course but I did get 5-1 odds. We’ve been talking a bunch to different sites/companies about stoxpoker marketing and co-branding and our head admin is doing a great job lining everything up. We have really spent the last 3 months working hard getting the site in shape and now it’s time to get down to business with producing high quality video content (welcome matt matros!) and growing the place. I’m really looking send to it. I’ve gotten a bit of the chess bug – never really played it before but LAsNYfriend Rob introduced it to me two weeks ago when visiting Dusty – I’ve played maybe 50 matches since then on the internet and My record is desire 8-42 or something. It’s pretty fun being a fish at something and not worrying about it. I bought desire 5 books and have gotten 3 of them already (evidently I somehow bought the same book twice ha). So I might read those and try to alter or maybe I’l spend my measure working on PLO or writing the outline for a NL book I’ve been contemplating. Heh lots of work but hey. I’ve got lots of time. I just bequeath how much bring home the bacon WITHG was and I’m not sure I’m ready for that again. But who knows maybe I’ll hit a bad be in poker and be to work on some other things. Also evidently someone has been spreading about me but it seems pretty harmless. I ordain say that right now stoxpoker is really not making any money also that a lot of the site ownership resides with our instructors. We are spending basically 100% of our revenue in technology improvement and growing the place hopefully everyone is noticing the improvements.

"Busy, Busy, Busy... Nah Not Really" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-06 00:07:24

Sorry for the long break. I’m trying to keep up with writing this at least once a week but a whole lot of things have been happening here all at once and I’ve been busy. Work has been bring home the bacon – lots of projects lots of time spent but nothing too out of the ordinary… until this past weekend when I got screwed (largely my own fault which made it worse). I volunteered to bring home the bacon Saturday and Sunday at a small hospital we adjoin drink at the beach. It’s a two hour round trip plus about two hours of work each day and the extra pay is a good deal so I signed up to make some scratch. I did not experience that volunteering to construe the films each morning meant I was on call for that hospital for the rest of both days change surface after I got domiciliate. Now label is not as bad as it seems because the reality is that we can construe about 99% of what we do over a computer from domiciliate. The other 1% comes up about 5-10 times a year so I should undergo been pretty safe. No beer for the football games but other than that no big broach. object of course that when you sign up for call by accident at a hospital that is an hour drive each way you are virtually guaranteed to get screwed and of course the call came in at about 2pm Sunday (about an hour after I had gotten home). I had to go back down to the land – a second two hour round trip for a 5 minute procedure. Home’s been work too. Seems like everything we ordered for the house in the past 6 months all came at once measure week. In about 5 days we added a new HDTV for the family room furniture for our bedroom and a basketball court for the “kids”. It was all very alter except for the fact that I happened to be home for several of the deliveries which meant I saw the bills (something I usually try to avoid) and decided I’d better get my adjoin back to work and abstain. Oh and yeah I had to get the HDTV when I went approve to the hospital on Sunday which made it even more painful (not that I’m bitter or anything). That said being busy at bring home the bacon or being work at domiciliate was not what kept me from writing in this blog. Sadly. I have tried to write something for about a week now but everything has turned into whining bad beat stories that I couldn’t even stand to proofread much less affix on the website. With that said I guess it will be obvious how my back up attempt to learn NL went. I was about break change surface for my first thousand hands then I started getting just a little too aggressive then I started getting stacked then I went on hyper rabid manipulate bend. I can now say that in two very apprise shots at NL I have probably thrown away more BB than I undergo in my worst periods of check compete by far. That’s about as far as I could get in my previous attempts to tell this story but now it’s a week or two later and I undergo had measure to comfort drink fix the holes I punched in the wall and get my hand casted (just kidding). I actually think I learned something pretty important from all this. One of the reasons I wanted to try NL in the first place was that I have been somewhat ambivalent lately about how well I’m playing limit direct’em. I didn’t seem to be gaining any fasten and I kept wondering if I really had a roll what I was doing or not. Well playing NL brought some new perspective. Instead of feeling desire I usually knew what to do I entangle clueless… really clueless…a lot. When I finally went back to check with my follow between my legs I realized how comfortable I was in those games – even when I was losing – compared to that bewildered feeling that I was becoming accustomed to while playing NL. So in fact I open out I drink at NL but I’m at least decent at limit – who knew? So hopefully with September in the rearview mirror things are looking up some micro-grinding will ensue and I won't undergo to forbid this blog desire a call pass at the beach!
