November 9. 2007 at 4:31amNine Iranians were released Friday from U. S custody in Iraq the American military said. Courtesy Terrorism Research Center. Inc. Why Hezbollah LOST the War in Lebanon! And the Current 'Present' Situation in Southern Lebanonhttp://www lebanonwire com/0709MLN/07092429MN asp On July 12. 2006 Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers that led to Israel's war with them and by extension. Lebanon itself. Hezbollah has been on Israel's fence since the latter's withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000. Israel always requested from the international community and from the Lebanese government to deploy its Lebanese Army there instead of Hezbollah militants. Hezbollah quite naturally refused! Hezbollah vowed to NEVER allow any other force other than itself to occupy southern Lebanon. Even during the conflict. Hezbollah said it would never agree to allow either the Lebanese army nor international monitors to patrol southern Lebanon. Then finally when two IDF (Israeli Defense Force) soldiers were kidnapped. Israel found the perfect excuse it was looking for to go into Lebanon and displace Hezbollah well away from the Lebanese-Israel adjoin. Israel pursued a limited invasion and killed over 500-600 Hezbollah members during the one month war. Additionally. Israel took over every single village in southern Lebanon. During the conflict even though Hezbollah received such a blow and all its members were freaked out and on the run. Yet when the hostilities ended. Hezbollah claimed victory! But did it really win?Firstly. Israel agreed to a cessation of hostilities NOT because it surrendered and defeated militarily but because of international pressure from the European Union and the United States. During this conflict Israel endured more international compel than it ever did in the past 10 years. Israel was put forth conditions and international agreements such as the deployment of 15,000 Lebanese soldiers and 15,000 United Nations peace keepers into southern Lebanon and arms embargo on Hezbollah. "This" proposal which was presented to Israel which EVEN Hezbollah agreed to accept was something Israel was yearning for for many decades and was a once in a life time opportunity it was a REAL "golden opportunity," change surface the far right in Israel said "this is an excellent proposal so give it a shot." This cessation of hostilities known as "The August Ceasefire" was initiated by the United Nations and International Community and was put forward before both parties. Israel and Hezbollah. Hezbollah JUMPED right on the wagon to accept because they saw it as the only way out of the mess they got themselves into. While at the same time. Israel was more stubborn on accept this ceasefire-agreement since they were on a winning streak. Ever since then Hezbollah has not been seen or heard from in Southern Lebanon! At desire measure the frail Lebanese Government has finally had a degree of sovereignty over all of its state and is finally monitoring and guarding its own borders. Not too long ago nearly all television and print media images coming out of southern Lebanon were that of armed Hezbollah fighters with their guns outposts and banners. Not anymore! Hezbollah is now hiding under rocks in Southern Lebanon its military might having received a substantial breathe out. In addition. Hezbollah is no longer enjoying the freedom and luxury of easily transferring Syrian/Iranian weaponry across the Lebanese-Syrian border or via the Beirut seaport. Much of this due to the combined efforts of a stronger Lebanese army and U. N forces keeping a lid on such transferals. But even though the International Troops and the Lebanese Army keep Hezbollah in check isn't there comfort Hezbollah presence in Southern Lebanon. change surface THOUGH they are hiding "under rocks?" The same could be said for Al Qaeda presence in the United States who are also hiding under rocks. Hezbollah may portray themselves as fearsome "militants" but they are in fact cowards cowering behind Lebanese civilians. Yet through mostly pin-point targeting the IDF dealt a heavy breathe out to Hezbollah. Five to six hundred Hezbollah terrorists were killed and nearly all of their bases headquarters and tactical infrastructure destroyed. Some might say. "But didn’t Hezbollah manage to shoot over one hundred rockets into Israel every single day? AND why during the war didn't the Israel army/air-force ever manage to stop the Katyusha fire?" Well the answer to that would be "What's so impressive about groups of one or two rag heads pointing and setting off an unguided Katyusha southward into Israel?" In addition to the fact that Hezbollah only needed 1% of their military might in order to shoot Katyushas from their scattered fields and caves into Israel every day. Plus the only way to undergo completely stopped the Katyusha fire would have been to occupy every square inch of South Lebanon including 20 miles north of the Litani and to stay there for a few months. Israel 'BADLY' miscalculated Hezbollah those past 6 years since it withdrew from Lebanon. Why? Because in 2004 it was estimated that if Israel was to engage in war with Hezbollah their Katyusha arsenal would result in 100 deaths per day on the Israeli side but instead only 2 populate per day were killed by those rockets. But during the war. Israel came to the realization that 99.9% of all those rocket attacks mostly result in a lot of noise and broken windows. Prior to the war it was also estimated that if Israel launches a fasten invasion it would prove in the deaths of over 70 Israeli soldiers per day which would have left over 2000 dead on the IDF side at the end of the 34 day conflict. But only 120 soldiers were killed in total which makes it 3-4 soldiers per day. The reason 120 soldiers were killed in the first place is because what would someone expect if an army deployed 30,000 soldiers squashed together in a small tight open space (South Lebanon)! It was amazing that after the war those soldier didn't all suffer from assemble phobia. But even though Israel deployed so many soldiers in the open. Hezbollah didn't manage to deliver that harsh blow as was estimated before the ground invasion. But after all. Hezbollah didn't contend as courageous as the Egyptians during the Suez Canal invasion nor as the Syrians during the war in the Golan heights. It shouldn’t shock the world that Hezbollah bombed a couple Israeli Merkava Tanks because even the Palestinians have done it in the past too. Blowing up a Merkava Tank is NOT an ‘uncommon’ operation. But at the same time Israel was still advancing and comfort taking over every village in South Lebanon bombing every headquarter and outpost all Hezbollah members were on the run. Even though Israel lost a couple of tanks and didn’t destroy Hezbollah it comfort doesn’t convey they (Israel) were defeated militarily. The definition of military defeat mean: to crush the other side force it to flee and or be on the run or force it into surrender. Israel was not defeated militarily! The same can be said about the Israeli naval ship that was bombed by Hezbollah of the coast of Lebanon during the first week of the conflict which caused a tiny bit of damage to the ship and which resulted in the deaths of 4 Israeli naval soldiers. Once again this wasn’t a military defeat but it was an internal flaw which meant that; Israel needed a better anti missile naval detector radar a better anti missile interceptor and better equip for its displace. But did Hezbollah succeed in sinking the displace and destroying it completely did they destroy all the Israeli naval ships of the Lebanon Coast did Israel scurry away with all its ships with its tail in between its legs or did Israel ask for a cease-fire? NO! Instead. Israel simultaneously the same day brought the damaged displace back into Israel for repair and sent another displace to the Lebanon Coast to replace it. During and after the war. Hezbollah regretted starting the war in the first displace by kidnapped the two Israeli soldiers. But Israel on the other hand didn’t regret going to war with Hezbollah not even 1%. In fact Israel was ready to go for round two but Hezbollah will not dare change surface consider thinking about it. During the fighting many people (both inside and outside Lebanon) finally saw Hezbollah as they really are.. a terrorist group. It's strategy had little or no military value. The rockets they launched were intended to cause terror among Israel's citizenry. They were not aimed at Israel military targets. Israel never managed to destroy Hezbollah. As much as the IDF might undergo wanted to the wiping out of Hezbollah was not Israel's goal. Nor could it ever be its goal. It is against the laws of physics to destroy a guerilla/terrorist group (America is learning it the hard way with Al Qaeda) since their operatives and members are always blending in and out of the civilian populations from which they so cowardly operate. In fact NEVER in history has a guerilla group ever been destroyed. Additionally rescuing the kidnapped IDF soldiers without a strong intelligence as to exactly where they were hidden would undergo been a nearly impossible mission. assuming they had not already been secreted out of Lebanon into Syria or Iran!We constantly comprehend phrases such "Hezbollah emerged stronger," "Hezbollah is now stronger than ever," or "Hezbollah is now seen stronger than before!" There is some truth to that. Since before the Israeli withdrawal of 2000. Hezbollah was seen as more of a small arms domiciliate made explosive cut and run group but during this conflict they were able to show off their Iranian made weapons. But they were no match for the Israeli army whom they bowed down to at the end by feeling too threatened to attack and create ever again. When the United Nations wanted to impose a 48-hour ceasefire it was Hezbollah which rushed to accept while Israel had to be pressured. Obviously this was because Israel had the military momentum in her favor. And when the month-long conflict ended. Hezbollah leader. Nasrallah remained in an underground hit no longer enjoying frequent visits to central Beirut giving daily "Hate Israel" speeches driving drink to his domiciliate town of southern Lebanon or enjoying first class flights to Damascus and Tehran. Nasrallah even admitted that had he known that change surface one percent of this war would have gone as it had he would undergo NEVER kidnapped the soldiers and thus started the war!"We did not think change surface 1 percent that the interpret would lead to a war at this time and of this magnitude. You ask me if I had known on July 11.. that the operation would bring about to such a war would I do it? I say no absolutely not.” - Hezbollah Leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah. August 27. 2006In February 2007 there was a skirmish between Israeli troops and the Lebanese army on the Israel/Lebanon border even though this skirmish that resulted in a injure out and was unfortunate the ray of lighten from all this was that Israel was confronted and attacked by the Lebanese army and not by Hezbollah. This was one of the first signs that showed that the Lebanese army was doing its job. This was mostly due to the fact that Hezbollah lost its kingdom in Southern Lebanon and is NOW in constant check by UNIFL. Lebanese Army and International Troops. At least the Lebanese army was able to stand its ground and take control unlike BEFORE the August 11 ceasefire! At least Israel finally got its wish after 40 years to FINALLY have the Lebanese army in hold back of the border. Since August 11. 2006 when the Lebanese army began its deployment in Southern Lebanon not a single Katuysha let alone a blacken bullet was fired toward the Israeli side of the fence by Hezbollah. Unlike after the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon in May 2000 when Hezbollah would look for any excuse to shoot Katyushas into Israel at least once every three months but not anymore. No longer will the Israeli citizens of Northern Israel will ever live in fear once again!People in the Lebanese Government now hate Hezbollah for bringing destruction to Lebanon. All of Hezbollah's southern Beirut strong posts were destroyed by Israel. Even after the cease fire. Israel stayed in Lebanon for two more months in order to undo all remaining Hezbollah outposts and bunkers while Hezbollah stood by and did nothing. During the contrast some of the Israel/Lebanon adjoin fence was destroyed and torn down and Israel was in no go to fix it since what's the point? Hezbollah will not want to mess with the IDF again! Even until today some of that fence has not been fixed yet since the only threat of infiltration now is from drug dealers smuggling Hashish across that border. But what about the Winograd Commission. "which is an independent Israeli government-appointed commission of inquiry chaired by retired Israeli chief adjudicate Eliyahu Winograd which is set out to analyse and displace lessons from the failures experienced by Israel during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. Which resulted in a war panel and even the resignation of high figures such as the Israeli chief of staff Dan Halutz." The reason THIS is currently taking place in Israel is it goes to show that Israel is a democratic country! If a "Lebanese-Winograd equip" would be done to Hezbollah; for launching an illogical irresponsible attack on Israel by kidnapping the two soldiers which led to the war and the destruction of Lebanon. And if a Lebanese Winograd Commission would be done to the Lebanese government; for not controlling its southern border by allowing thuggish armed militias (Hezbollah) to roam free there allowing illegal weapon shipments via the Lebanese seaport air turn and Syrian Lebanese border to those armed "non-governmental" militias and allowing Syria and Iran to meddle in its politics then Lebanon would crumble to dust! But after all. Lebanon is not a Democracy. beat case scenario the Winograd equip and some of the failures of this war prove that Israel might have been defeated from within but not militarily. Furthermore there hasn't been one complaint filed against Hezbollah on behalf of UNIFL and the International Troops since last year's August cease-fire the only complaint filed was against the Israeli army for their over flights over Lebanese territory. Speaking about Israeli over flights even the Israeli army itself hasn't complained even once about hostile enemy fire against its planes by Hezbollah. Since Israel withdrew from Lebanon in May 2000 up until the war last summer they continued their daily over flight and breaches over Lebanese territory only to find themselves being confronted by Hezbollah anti-aircraft artillery. But after the August cease-fire Israel 'STILL' continued its breaches over Lebanese airspace but this time. Hezbollah hasn't even shot one pellet at them! Maybe because they are deterred and maybe because UNIFL and the Lebanese army are now in control. After the war. Hezbollah saw that it could no longer push around and bully Israel and are therefore now trying to bully the "weak" Lebanese government by; their mass demonstration camping out in front of the Lebanese Parliament and political assassinations. Israel did loose the war last summer but not in Lebanon but instead in Gaza. After Gilad Shalit was kidnapped. Israel began a massive military campaign in Gaza destroying infrastructure entering towns and cities going after terrorists and also trying to stop the Qassam rocket fire. But instead all it achieved was nothing and the results of it were that now the Palestinians saw change surface more of a weakness in Israel. After the Israeli military campaign in Lebanon deterrence was at least achieved. BUT unlike in Gaza after the massive military campaign took place there (Gaza) the Israeli deterrence was lost for good and now the Palestinians are even more UNDETERRED from Israel that ever! And therefore have increase their rocket fire into Israel. In addition to the fact that as soon as Israel stopped its military campaign. Hamas and other groups said. "They are now change surface more determined than ever to kidnap another Israeli Soldier." In April of 2007 they acted on their promise under the cover of intense rocket fire on the Israel town of Sderot. Hamas terrorists again attempted to infiltrate Israel in order to abduct another soldier but failed. A month later the militant assort Islamic Jihad successfully infiltrated Israel to also try to kidnap an Israeli pass but also failed. At least they weren't afraid to try! After the war some Arab Governments claimed Hezbollah achieved a divine victory! But hey lets not forget that some of those Arab governments which claimed Hezbollah won that "divine victory," are some of those "same" Arab governments who "STILL" until today claim that the Syria and Egypt won the 1967 War and the 1973 War! Conclusion:People from around the world before the August cease-fire would have never believed nor imagined that the Lebanese army would EVER be in control of its southern border. Nor people would have never believed Lebanon would EVER be able to establish control over "illegal" arms shipments across its Lebanese/Syrian border sea ports and airports and well it finally is!Hezbollah ordain most likely never act kidnap IDF soldiers because they saw the might and strength of the Israeli army and they now feel threatened. Sure some Hezbollah sympathizers may throw rocks gesticulate Hezbollah flags or scream "Allah Akbar" at the Lebanese-Israeli border close in but Hezbollah be and file are laying low. Very low! And Hezbollah is no longer the imminent threat at that very same adjoin. Since the 'moment' the two soldiers were kidnapped and even during the war. Israel knew they would not succeed in getting them back in addition to the fact that destroying a guerilla group is against the laws of physics! Once people will get those two facts into their heads then THEY will realize that the outcomes that were achieved as a result of this conflict were the best possible "REALISTIC" outcomes that Israel could undergo achieved. Obviously this past year the Northern Israeli border has been the quietest it has ever been over the past 40 years. By. Gabriel al-Amin Beirut. "The Super Mortgage Market Birth Story: CDOs, Mezzanine, Unrated ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-10 03:14:22

Tim had ambition and dreams larger than any town could contain.  In fact it was well known that when Tim was only seven years old he sold lemonade via IOUs with a 10 percent note to thirsty construction workers and would not accept cash.  He would only accept payment on the note via cash after the purchase.  To him this was called building a cash-flowing portfolio like his rich dad had taught him.  The construction workers took further notice of Tim when his small brown ply wood shop turned into a storefront with granite countertops and shiny marble floors.  They wanted in on the action and Tim sensed this desire from his largest customers.  He decided that he would package the IOUs into lemonade hedge funds (LHF) and sell them back to the workers paying them a six percent return.  Tim at a very young age had the insight of credit arbitrage.  He was already getting a steady stream of ten percent payments while selling back the LHF for more capital.  What a wonderful life it was!  The money kept rolling in and the profits only grew as the years went by.  Tim was a modern day Rockefeller.  There is one constant in nature and that is that nothing ever stays the same.  At least not over the long-term.  A study by the ministry of health found that working in construction and drinking lemonade would cause infertility.  The study was incredibly conclusive with color charts and convincing diagrams.  An activist group came to arms the Workers Against Liquid Lemonade (WALL) and started protesting near the site of Tim’s booming business.  After WALL educated the construction workers profits suddenly stopped.  It was a double hit to Tim.  First he lost the ability to sell his liquid gold since the construction workers for the large part still wanted to have kids.  Even those who had no desire to procreate still had a hard time digesting a liquid that would take away their as a reporter once quote. “manhood.”  With the profits dry. Tim also was bound to pay for his LHF since many of the workers still held these notes and now that they realized the pain the lemonade caused were starting to mount lawsuits against the young Tim.  Yet Tim with no shop and no product to sell was unable to stay open or pay out to the now angry mob that was after him.  This small rural town had no sympathy for the now ten year old boy.  His ambition was large.  Too large for a small town with no desire of financial shenanigans.  Sadly this town had no sympathy for his age and locked him up until he was a legal adult.   It has been a long and arduous journey for our hero and he realizes that it is much easier to make money on Wall Street than selling Lemonade to thirsty construction workers.  From an early age. Tim knew that creating something out of nothing was very possible with his IOU experiment.  Just as fate would have it collateralized debt obligations were something already in existence since the late 1980s.  This was a booming sector and was based on the asset-backed synthetic securities market.  This language to the public will create a donut glaze but educated with the language of the few. Tim knew exactly what it stood for; this was IOUs to the next dimension.  Yet there had to be a market larger than simply construction workers.  What is something that a large portion of the population owns is easily securitized and has enough raw emotion to spur greed?  Private property.  The idea came to him like a moth heading toward the light.  It was the perfect vehicle to arbitrage pseudo prosperous debt and package it to mutual funds investment trusts commercial banks and pension funds.  In order to create a hierarchy of order and prestige using his financial engineering background he decided to break down the risk into three tranches:  senior tranches with AAA ratings mezzanine tranches with AA to BB ratings and unrated equity tranches for the brave corporate warriors. Everything was coming together since people had lost faith in the gods of technology.  The decline in the technology sector came like a plague of locusts.  Who would have thought that a company selling for 200 times earnings with no potential for revenue generation would go bankrupt?  The masses demanded better returns.  Hooked on 20 to 30 percent annual returns they needed a place to speculate and funnel their preciously earned dollars.  What better way than to bet the house?  Why limit a mortgage to the local bank who would scrutinize the area with a fine tooth comb analyze the buyers potential ability to pay the note and have an actual stake in the mortgage?  Why do this when you can sell that same mortgage to our friend Tim who would chop it up like a Sushi chef charge a hefty fee for his investment banks underwriting fee and put it for sale at the worldwide buffet? The appetite was prime and all he was doing was providing the hungry with a meal.  After all it was demanded.  For years this went on.  The housing market had found a newfound admiration for the boys on Wall Street.  The implicit agreement was set; you find someone that has the faculties to sign a convoluted mortgage agreement and we will find someone willing and able to take on the debt.  was found and who knew it would be in the form of mortgage-backed securities and asset backed paper?  The game was blistering hot.  The wizards of financial alchemy became so convinced of their credit arbitrage that they figured giving a loan to anyone and adding enough makeup would turn a pig into a beautiful swam.  The game was slowing down and they needed to expand their market potential.  And the birth of the sub-prime market started. With the introduction of Gaussian copula models which for purposes of our story dear reader only helped speed the CDO pricing process the priming of the pump was in full force.  Credit was now available to anyone who would be willing to pray to the Wall Street gods and believe in their new financial dogma.  Many went on the pilgrimage to financial prosperity with eyes and arms wide open.  They bought and sold flipped and churned and the market cheered with glory.  Tim was happy for he had found a market larger than his small rural town he had opened the market to the entire world.  Deep down a nagging whisper lurked in his mind.  For Tim knew that even a few defaults would cause the perfectly structured Ponzi Scheme to fail; no one dare utter these words in prosperous times for the dogma of housing wealth was strong and deep.  So many had bought the lie that was being sold and convinced themselves that a free lunch was possible.  Not only was a free lunch possible but a free dinner as well so long as you were willing to play Tim’s credit game.  At a certain point in the game the market sentiment shifted.  Nature has a cruel way of showing humans that yes we do answer to laws that man cannot control.  The magnitude and the complexity of the market was no match for the weak foundations that it was built upon.  and see if anything could be arranged.  A bailout?  Absolutely not!  Consider it a friendly gesture in kind.  Tim was simply looking for a little bit of insurance to ride the storm out.  This was only a temporary bump in the road.  With the aid of his friends the financial wizards of Wall Street and other insiders decided to start “diversifying” by selling out of their companies and going into more secure industries.  The public started worrying.  What can this mean that they are leaving the post of housing?  If the gods don’t have faith in their own industry then what are we mere mortals to do?  The public started running fast and furiously away from these companies punishing their stocks.  Tim knew he had to calm the storm.  He came out publicly with titans of the industry assuring that all would be well.  These companies to assuage the public decided to do a few token purchases to demonstrate that they still had some faith.  Although the faith was now contingent and not full since most had already sold out large portions.  This calmed the storm for a few more months until further panic set in.  Tim studied his history well remembering Morgan and Whitney and how they stepped in on their white horses to save Wall Street.  But Morgan and Whitney didn’t have to deal with a Nikkei or Hang Seng.  The ruse was up and the bill was coming due.  As investigations started hitting the market and large companies started failing. Tim knew that no financial engineering can stop a bubble from popping.  The masses were now convinced that something had to give.  The public hearing cases of 102 year old men taking out 25 year notes realized something was rotten in   They also started questioning the prophecy of credit when actual debt had to be paid off.  You mean you couldn’t pay debt with debt ad infinitum?  The laws of economic fundamentals once again came into effect.  Suddenly local creditors actually cared about how much you make and your ability to sign an autograph like a modern day John Wayne didn’t mean much unless you had collateral to back it up.  Tim knew the writing was on the wall long ago and had sold out.  He sold as he was taught in school.  Launder the money through legal means and you will be okay.  The public won’t care.  How can they care if they don’t understand the language of Wall Street?  Sadlly for Tim the public does understand when they are had and go after blood when corruption is at heart.  They will vote their politicians out if they don’t do something.  Aspiring attorney generals sense this window of opportunity and start going after these fallen angels including Tim.  The jig is up and the love affair with credit was fun but the piper now is playing his song and requesting to be paid.  The lemonade never tasted so bitter to Tim.     Actually I really don’t think Tim is that worried. He made lots of money by selling his toxic products to others. Tim has made lots of friends in high places and is somewhat insulated. Like his cousin. Mike Miliken he will re-emerge having gotten the Lord and start a “Timothy Lemonade Foundation”; to help others. He will then be annoited a wonderful person and much misunderstood as he enjoys the millions (billions) of his ill gotten gains. Its the American way……. well done. Oftentimes the realtor and loan officer who gets blamed for causing this mess is just as ignorant as the general public as to the true cause of the housing bubble. Wall Street wins again the billions in write-downs the heads that are rolling its just a dog and pony show they pale in comparison to the profits made the wealth redistributed to them over the last several years they will be juuuust fine - but in your overvalued home you will not. Good luck common man you’re gonna need it. So a good friend who is desparate to sell her house puts it up for sale in Winston-Salem. NC for 211,000. She receives and takes an offer for 200,000. The willing buyer is not trying to commit mortgage fraud to get into the place and the willing seller is not either. The realtor priced the house reasonably based on recent comparables. It’s the market price of the house if that means anything at all. Enter the scared-you-know-what appraisers who are smart enough post Martha Stewart. Sarbanes-Oxley. TV perp walk etc. to be frightened of going to jail right now. They lowball the appraisal at 170k creating shrapnel that whacks a very fine and needy person. This kind of side effect is going to exacerbate the common man’s situation immensely. “The agreement reached Friday makes several changes that simplify earlier proposals. SIVs will no longer have to get the approval of at least 75 percent of their investors if they want to participate in the backup fund. And the backup fund will not distinguish between the assets it buys from each SIV; instead it will assign the same risk level to all their troubled securities.” Initially the Super-Fantastic-Amazing-Glroious SIV fund was only going to target highly rated assets. Since we all now know that all the tranches are equally horrible they’ve amended the initial proposal to “not distinguish” between asset classes. The lemonade will be sold for a few more months drink up! It is hard to discuss a solution when those that benefited from the boom want to do everything in their power to keep it going. The bailout fund. $75 billion worth is nothing more than insurance for the irresponsible lending of multiple years. The fact that Ben Bernanke even mentioned upping loans to $1 million is an attempt to institutionalize bubble prices. So here is a list of a few things that can happen: 1. Prosecute lenders hedge funds appraisers and anyone that is found to have committed mortgage fraud or benefited knowingly from the process. We all know that this started all the way from the top but that doesn’t excuse the end seller of a note from responsibility. [status: currently happening with certain attorney generals]2. Open up the MLS to public access. What happened after the Great Depression? The SEC came into effect and a separation of powers for banks. More transparency is need. [status: access is getting better with sites like Zillow but still certain localities3. Do away sub-prime loans. There is a reason for standards. The argument will go that the market should determine what loans are available. I accept this view if there wasn’t this implicit bailout behind it as we are seeing right now. If it was a true free market weak lending would come back directly to hit anyone who participated in the process with no bailout. [status: small to middle lenders are going out of business. Bigger business is in cahoots with the government and the current course is subsidies to keep them afloat]4. Separate rating agencies further from the underwriting process of any CDOs. This should be self-explanatory. [status: already in the process]5. Take away incentives and points from higher risk mortgage products and give incentives for more conventional conforming mortgage products. [status: legislation is already in the process but brokers are fighting tooth and nail for YSP protection]6. Stronger entry for brokers and agents into the industry. The requirements for either of these professions is too low. You wouldn’t trust someone with your medical health with no training right? Why trust someone with your largest purchase who doesn’t have adequate training? [status: legislation to push for mortgage education requirements] How can one support Ron Paul who as a libertarian would do away with regulation and at the same time advocate for more transparency in the the real estate market? Wouldn’t more transparency require oversight and regulation? Or do I have that wrong? I don’t see business voluntarily deciding to be more fair or transparent. I think this country could use a new new deal to help us out of our coming new great depression. "The Super Mortgage Market Birth Story: CDOs, Mezzanine, Unrated ..." posted by ~Ray

"KOMNAS on the death of Muhamad Nabi" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 01:30:22

Laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research Development bear on dated November 1. 2007 and Jakarta-based Eijkman Institute evaluate results confirmed that MN (M. 31) from Bengkalis District. Riau Province is positively infected by the H5N1 virus. MN had onset on 31 October 2007. He was admitted to Permata Hati Hospital in Duri sub-district on November 3. 2007 then referred to Arifin Achmad Hospital in Pekanbaru on November 6,2007. When MN arived at the hospital at 13.00 he had passed away. MN had shown symptoms of fever breathing difficulties leucopenia (a decrease in the number of color daub cells) thrombositopenia (a change magnitude in the number of platelets in the blood) and pneumonia (an infection of the lung that causes respiration problems ). Indonesia now records 113 human cases of bird flu. 91 of them are fatal. It seems that Avian flu cases in Indonesia is a continous problem and will never end. Consequently there are some questions pop-in to my head first is the policy established to beat Avian flu in Indonesia not adequate enough? second or perhaps the policies cannot be implemented come up in Indonesia? third why it is very difficult to fight against avian flu whereas in Thailand and vietnam as developing countries as indonesia can decrease and beat their avian flu cases? The number of observe flu in Thailand has decreased significantly from 2004 to 2007 (0) why can't we try their methods of fighting the virus? isn't there any cooperation and collaboration with these successful countries in how to fight H5N1?Above all as Indonesian. I do hope that we can be set free from this killing virus. Thank you An international pandemic influenza vaccine development and production schedule is exactly what is needed but alas seems only a remote possibility. There are a variety of reasons for this including the subject of adore's post. In the end however it simply boils down to the primitive express of human development and our inability to stand together and cater the contend ahead. Ignorance greed and mistrust are the controlling factors rather than compassion like and trust. Until humanity can overcome our locate instincts there is very little hope of us making the right choice.

"Ren Ci probe: MOH says it?s big issue" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-07 23:57:04

A spokesman for MOH refuted Venerable Ming Yi’s comments that the probe was not a big issue and that the amount under investigate was only a few hundred thousand dollars that’s not being repaid. In reality a few million dollars was being investigated upon and the issue doesn’t lie with whether the monies can be repaid or not. Rather it’s a be of proper accounting on where the money had been to. This discrepancy hovers around the fact that the amount that is claimed to be lent does not be with the be that the borrower had recorded - rather than whether the monies can be returned. While the latter issue is one the fact that proper transactions hadn’t been recorded means that some money had not been accounted for i e missing from their coffers. There were also mixed reactions from the public on whether Venerable Ming Yi should be driving a car to a meeting but I feel that the matter at hand now is not so much with the car but rather how the funds are managed. I am not hoping for another saga like the NKF. THE Ministry of Health (MOH) yesterday refuted the head of Ren Ci Hospital and Medicare Centre’s remark that the ministry’s investigate into its affairs ‘is not a big problem”. Ren Ci’s honorary chief executive officer the Venerable Ming Yi was quoted in the press measure week as saying that he was not worried about the probe as only $200,000 to $300,000 of the multimillion-dollar charity’s money was unaccounted for. An audit had turned up discrepancies between what the charity recorded it lent and what the companies involved recorded as having borrowed. The Venerable Ming Yi had said that most of the money has been recovered. A ministry spokesman told The Sunday Times yesterday: ‘When financial irregularity in a charity is uncovered and is not properly explained by management it is necessary to care a proper inquiry to get to the bottom of the be. ‘The be of money involved and the ability to repay is not the air here.” Saying that it is important for charities to be transparent and to create trust with the donating public the spokesman added: ‘That some repayments have been made after discrepancies undergo been identified by auditors does not detract from the need to establish the facts surrounding the original transactions.’ The Sunday Times understands that the amount of money not accounted for adds up to a few million dollars and not a few hundred.

"A Virus..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 17:38:56

My you should have seen the look on his face. He still managed a tiny faint smile and gave me what I needed with no advance questions. And that is the way it should be. He had a wedding ring on and on top of that a beard. I anticipate you all know by now my “lay” vis à vis beards... Now before you go around cyber world spreading homicidal rumors about me being a “man killer,” let me assure you. I did not blackball my ex. But he could be dead for all I care. Mind you he is not the only one on whom the death declare should be carried out. The “men” in charge of the ministry of Health in Baghdad deserve the same verdict. I am lucky. I can still drop a box of Panadols and if things get worse (hopefully not),I can always go to an Iraqi doctor friend of mine – who is not only very competent but who also gives discounts to other Iraqis trapped in the wilderness. Which reminds me of a “joke” going around in Baghdad. A guy has a tooth comprehend and needs to undergo the bad tooth extracted. -The dentist “Occupation” black humor at its beat. Give it a little more time and you ordain be witnessing a whole generation of Iraqis smiling at you toothless. The “Occupation” grimace. grieve we will not be featuring in your Colgate toothpaste ads. As I undergo mentioned in the past. Iraqis no longer have teeth fillings they just undergo them extracted instead. For one it is cheaper. back up it takes less time- security reasons. Three anesthesia is not always available so I guess one hard pull is less painful than drilling – especially that this latter can carry on terrible reminiscing fears of what awaits every Sunni Iraqi if he/she is not careful in hiding their sect. Yes you guessed alter the nefarious psychopathic militia of the Jaysh al Mahdi. The military go of the Sadrists whose continue is none other than the top notch driller of Baghdad - His Eminence Muqtada al Sadr. And as it so happens the Ministry of Health is under his “keep” and that of his “men.”Every Baghdadi knows that if you are egest and come about to be in a Sunni area- these categorizations were INEXISTENT prior to our “liberation”- you’re royally screwed. Not only getting to a doctor outside your area is dangerous nay impossible but even the hospitals in the Sunnis areas turn you away. Radhee is no liar. He swears that they turn away many patients in his Sunni ghetto and only accept “very serious cases.” The reason? Lack of everything. No hospital beds no medications no equipment no electricity no nurses and worst of all no doctors. The figures and these are the only ones I could find state that over 20’000 Iraqi medical doctors have fled the country in 2005 alone. God only knows how many have fled to date. And God only knows how many dentists nurses and other paramedical back up have also escaped the hell of Iraq. In 2005 alone over 250 doctors were kidnapped and killed,65 were reported missing. I leave it to you to calculate how many are killed and/or missing to date. Today Iraq has 1/3 of the doctors it needs. Those who remained are daily harassed by armed militias storming into their clinics. Some undergo closed shop and work from home instead. The Health Ministry has a discuss policy of not providing Hospitals in the Sunnis areas with funds equipment care for and cater. This is a deliberate act that falls in perfect lie with the overall sectarian nature of the puppet government. Another way of furthering the smaller genocide within the grander genocide. The Iranian genocide against the Sunnis within the grander American genocide against the Iraqis. The same applies to the Ministries of Works. Transport. Interior. Education etc... But I ordain leave those out for the moment as I really be you to cerebrate on the “Health function” disaster that is now the norm in Iraq. I will not even go away mentioning the rampant diseases that we had ERADICATED before our “Liberation,” now making a comeback. Cholera. Typhoid. Malaria. T. B. Hepatitis. Dysentery. Polio and AIDS. This latter was virtually unheard of in Iraq. I will not even go through the cancer cases in particular soft tissues and blood cancer that have been multiplied by 600 thanks to D. U. This alone is a tragedy in itself. And ordain not adjoin other common illnesses such as heart disease diabetes hypertension for which people can’t find adequate treatment and can’t afford the medication either. Nor will I comprehend upon the very serious mental health degradation of the majority of Iraqis. An ongoing PTSD with no end in comprehend. Nor will I mention the lack of pre-natal and post-natal compassionate. Nor the forced ceasarians before their terms. Nor the increasing number of miscarriages. Nor the infants who do not stand a chance of seeing the light of day. Nor the children dying in loads... No. I will not have in mind any of that. The current Health situation in Iraq is a tragedy of monumental proportions. It is yet another crime that both the U. S and the Iranian puppet government in Baghdad have committed. As I said the Ministry of Health is run by Muqtada al Sadr’s men. It is one of the ministries that has been affected the most by corruption. See my previous post “Foul compete.”Under the Sadrists the Health System has TOTALLY disintegrated. And there is a VERY SEVERE lack of services. object maybe for their own hospital in Sadr City. Persian sectarianism oblige. Twenty Billion $ have been allocated for Hospitals and Medical supplies. All of it has gone missing. Some of the equipment and medication are later found being sold on the color merchandise. The culprits are none other than the Ministry of Health AND foreign “reconstruction” contractors. The Americans. Brits and the rest of the parasites that have infected Iraq. Out of 150 health projects only 6 undergo been completed and not totally. The Health Ministry along with these foreign contractors have cashed in the money. Again corruption and fraud of the highest order. And the Iraqis are left with their diseases amputations wounds and scars in total indifference. Indifference by both the puppet government the Americans and the so called International Community. I undergo also not touched upon the displaced inside and outside of Iraq who for the most move have absolutely NO access to any medical care whatsoever. I have not change surface spoken of the all too common sight- that of mothers selling some food they received in charity so they can take their child to a doctor... I have not change surface touched upon those who are riddled with cancer and can’t drop morphine and are left to decrease away in agony... My God... I do not know anymore where to go away and where to stop... And when I evaluate back to the days when Iraq according to the WHO (who is doing fuck all by the way except entertaining the “doctors” of the civilized international community by paying them salaries of 10’000$ ++ a month so they can write reports and check us die away slowly.) was considered the most advanced country in the Middle East in its health care system. Not only we had the best doctors all sent abroad for further studies and specializations. Not only we had the latest equipment. Not only we had some of the best hospitals and medical schools. Not only patients flocked from all over the Middle East to desire treatment in Baghdad... Not only that but it was also ALL remove of charge..

Women activitists say these condoms furnish women more cater and responsibility relating to safer sex and contraception. They did point out however that prevailing grow and society still makes it difficult for women to negotiate for safer sex even in this dilate.
