NORTHFIELD. Minn. – Picked 11th in the most recent coaches poll the Allegheny College Gators bettered that mark by four places and narrowly missed another en route to a seventh place finish at the NCAA Division III National Meet hosted by St. Olaf College. In his first national meet experience freshman Ross ran to a time of 25:37 placing 69th. Junior Matt Hoy (Moon Township. Pa./Moon) took 106th overall in a time of 25:52 with sophomore Tony Dipre (Twinsburg. Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) finishing up the scoring five by placing 151st in a time of 26:04. Devon Flynnperrault (Lafayette. Calif./Campolindo) a sophomore and Ben Mourer (Chicora. Pa./Karns City) a senior rounded out the competing Gators by placing 209th and 259th crossing the finish line in times of 26:26 and 27:12 respectively. The seventh place finish marks the second consecutive year the Gators have finished within the top 10 overall (Allegheny had a third place finish last season) and also the second best team finish in school history.

Calif. - Lightning struck twice in the Stanford-California water polo rivalry as the fourth-ranked Cardinal upset the top-ranked Golden Bears 10-9 in sudden-death overtime Friday night at Avery Stadium.
