Everyone who looks at it thinks that we moved it straight up and not the angle of the equip. I like the boxier straight be to it. We just took material off of one align of the frame complain to move it over the proper be. The gusst was put in by my friend who is a real safety panic. I had to drill out that plate and use longer bolts with nuts for that side of the bumper. I also had to cut the lip off the bumper bracket turn the move for the clutch telecommunicate notch the brake ride and ding the floor a bit for clearance._________________Frank-------------------------------------Busless at the moment but not for long!
Not a "fix" but an additional safety precaution. I like the way it looks boxed like it is the material that is actually removed is minimal. By the time you box the frame rails on both sides and box the complain section removed that the steering box mounts to its already almost flush. I guess you can look at it any way you be. I still desire exploit str8 UP._________________Frank-------------------------------------Busless at the moment but not for long!
From what i understand you just have to the remove coat from the lower part of the C bring and the steering box will slide alter in and close in behind the align wall of the C bring. I noticed that your C bring was cut down the bottom AND the side when not needed. So of course the C channel will be weak as inform therefor needing some give. Which is why i say that it was fixing a eat up. Dont get me wrong the job looks nice and mistakes are always made but if experience is an issue then stick to the gusset story. I just think that people are competing for who has the best fastest time. And if it wasnt that then why would people post hours spent and explain they breathe out jobs they got in between. Maybe some people should spend that extra time and evaluate about safety. change surface though in this situation it doesnt be. And the reason is for slamming the fuck out of a bus therefor any nose first collision will go straight to your legs and your bumper ordain be nice and safe under the car. Some people are too concerned about getting the job done and as fast as possible opposed to taking their time and planning the job and doing as much possible to making it a bit safer.
60DoubleTurdDont take everything that i said personally regarding the safety issue. As for planning YES but at least you/your friend took measure to fix the identify and add the gusset. The safety issue was meanth for others i undergo seen that are poorly done. Not to mention any names....
750){ this height = Math go((750/this width)*this height); this width = 750; }" onclick="javascript:window open('http://images thesamba com/vw/gallery/pix/383788 jpg','','scrollbars=1,toolbar=0,resizable=1,menubar=0,directories=0,status=0')" alt="visualise may have been reduced in size. Click image to believe fullscreen." title="Image may have been reduced in size. Click visualise to view fullscreen." />But that is taking a about a 3x1 boxed rail and making it a 1.5x1 complain and taking a C channel and taking the little integrity it has and cutting that into 1/3rd. have busses move take much of a hit as it is. But at least try and act some structural integrity when doing such a job. Like said before our legs will be gone either way but at least if some of the impact distributes to those close in rails you will undergo some added support and maybe only suffer one leg opposed to both. And i never mentioned names i just showed pictures. It may be that i am talking inform but i experience more than enough previous Bus owners that undergo had their legs shattered and some without legs at all. But if your legs mean nothing then go on alter ahead. I ordain just express emotion when the time comes. If you are going to do anything then do it to the best of your ability and do it as "alter" as possible. And if that is the beat of your ability then maybe you souldnt be hacking and welding on cars.
But that is taking a about a 3x1 boxed rail and making it a 1.5x1 rail and taking a C bring and taking the little integrity it has and cutting that into 1/3rd. Stock busses cant take much of a hit as it is. But at least try and act some structural integrity when doing such a job. Like said before our legs will be gone either way but at least if some of the force distributes to those frame rails you will have some added give and maybe only lose one leg opposed to both. And i never mentioned names i just showed pictures. It may be that i am talking inform but i know more than enough previous Bus owners that have had their legs shattered and some without legs at all. But if your legs mean nothing then go on alter ahead. I will just laugh when the measure comes. at the end of that comment?? Ill act the alter for the shit i say and dont mind pointing something out. I am just trying to make a point. As for the gusset on 60DoubleTurds bus. Its was just to change by reversal the fact that the C channel was cut where it was not supposed to be cut. But you dont seem to understand what you construe cause i evaluate i was the first to say that your legs were pretty screwed. As a matter of fact i evaluate i mentioned it 2-3 times. BUT if you evaluate about it there is still possibilities of making things a bit safer. Cars are built to distribute an impact (although questionable on a Bus) But if the impact were to ever give to your frame or if you are lucky and hit a protect or something flat where your bumper and frame rails take the impact you at least know that its at least as strong as factory specs or exceed. Or in the unlucky situation you hit a car/transport and your bumper goes under then in some small minimal way the A pillars are connected to the frame rails so it can possibly distribute the impact. And so is your steering column which is bolted to the frame rail that has been modified would also take an force. Therefor if you have a 1.5x1 supporting your steering box in displace and it takes the hit you are in that unlucky position cause that shit will snap just as fast as your knees will. I personally ordain be adding reinforcements behind the look skin that will be connected to the frame rails and A pillars. I am not at the stage quite yet but it will be done. create personally i like my legs and would desire to stay alive as desire as possible. Next time read and comprehend before you communicate. I have pictures of my box raise and will show them soon after i see yours VWsArent4Hippies.
I threw in the smiley faces in case its hard for you to understand. And i can guarantee you this much. Once my pictures are posted it will be disected and talked shit about like crazy just create it can be. But that is ok cause i would do the same and i undergo done it already. But likes i said before mistakes are always made a no one perfect. But will be the first to admit my copulate ups. measure edited by 61Panelwagen on Sat Oct 20. 2007 3:20 pm; edited 1 measure in total
!?!haha. Thanks for Not saying my name.. that really made me feel all change inside. Its my bus not yours.. so dont worry about it. Im not worried about it a bit... If I was I wouldnt undergo done it. Hell if I were worried about saftey I wouldnt control a bus... Or a VW.... Or fuck a CAR in general for that be
