Rowlett takes over at its five yard line with 3:00 left. Naaman Forest has all three timeouts so if it can force a punt it will get one last shot. Rowlett didn't need to give the ball to Dexter Imade since Naaman Forest gave it away on the kickoff. Chadd Dearen placed the kickoff perfectly at the goal line where Kendal Estes was forced to bring it back. Estes didn't get very far before he was popped. Jordan Milton snatched the loose ball and returned it five yards for a TD. It's still the Dexter Imade show. Not only has been running like the dickens but a couple of smart screen passes have gained key first downs. Rowlett immediately gives the ball to Dexter Imade for a 21-yard gain. As the third quarter ends. Rowlett has first-and-10 at the Naaman Forest 42 trailing 14-11. Rowlett didn't mess around this time handing the ball to Dexter Imade on six straight plays (GREAT strategy!) to cover 33 yards for a touchdown. Then Blake Hamblin threw to Imade for the two-point conversion. Rowlett: 78 rush. 86 pass (Dexter Imade has 12 carries for 81; Blake Hamblin is 9-of-12 passing) Naaman Forest: 174 rush. 9 pass (Jonathon Miller 7 carries for 97; Derrick Osborn 9 carries for 72 yards and 1-of-5 passing) We've seen two good RBs in Miller and Imade plus a good running QB in Osborn and a good passing QB in Hamblin (he completed his first six attempts). Right now Naaman Forest is the more polished team offensively and defensively. This game isn't far from being neck-and-neck if Rowlett can make a couple of plays. If it can't. Naaman will continue to push the advantage. Naaman Forest drove deep into Rowlett territory thanks to some nifty runs by QB Derrick Osborn and a pass interference penalty. On third-and-goal everyone in Williams Stadium knew the ball was going to superback Jonathon Miller. It did but then he handed it to Stephen Eggins on a reverse for an easy. 3-yard TD. The Rowlett offensive coordinator must be trying to prove a point. Rowlett completed two passes to cover 50 yards to the Naaman Forest 17 then handed the ball off to RB Dexter Imade for five straight plays - including one that was nullified by a false-start penalty. On third-and-goal form the five. Rowlett finally ran something different but QB Blake Hamblin was flushed out of the pocket and held to a one-yard gain. Duncanville ISD will induct a fourth class to its Athletic Hall of Honor at 7 tonight in the Performance Hall at the high school. Admission is free and the public is invited. This year's class includes Jan Briggs. Anita Campbell. Rose Farmer. Sara Hackerott. Todd Ritchie and Pemm Smith. They were nominated by community members and chosen through a committee. Euless Trinity 27. Colleyville Heritage 20Trinity has the perfect combination to slow down QB Steven Hill and the potent Colleyville Heritage offense. The Trojans can keep Hill and Co on the sideline for most of the night by hammering away with an overpowering rushing attack. When Hill gets on the field he'll have to deal with a secondary that features two Big 12 recruits: Eryon Barnett (Texas) and Prinz Kande (Kansas). Flower Mound 31. Hebron 24Hebron has turned the ship around after an 0-3 start but Flower Mound has been phenomenal since the first possession of the season. This should be Flower Mound's first close game of the season and it's hard to pick against Hebron at the Wood Shed but the Jaguars will keep rolling into a showdown of unbeatens with Carroll in a couple of weeks. Southlake Carroll 49. Coppell 35This game will be a lot like Coppell's 57-41 loss to Highland Park. The Cowboys' high-octane offense will put up enough points to make it interesting but Coppell isn't quite ready to hang with an elite team for four quarters. Lake Highlands 24. Richardson Berkner 20I really think that Berkner will bounce back from last week's loss to Carrollton Creekview to reclaim naming rights of the Boneyard. But I was so wrong with my prediction that Skyline would whip Lake Highlands that I'm scared to pick against the Wildcats again. Denton Ryan 63. Lake Dallas 56Maybe this game a matchup of two of the area's most prolific offenses ends before midnight. I thought Ryan coach Joey Florence might have been exaggerating when he told me junior Scotty Young was the best QB he's had. After 27 passing TDs in five games. Florence's bold statement doesn't seem so silly. Good enough to still garner attention from college recruiters despite sustaining a season-ending partially torn ACL during the team's second scrimmage. Goodlow (6-2. 202) has had surgery and his recovery time was pushed up from six months to four. Flower Mound has a stingy defense (12.4 ppg. 265.6 yards per game). Brandon Colquitt leads an incredible passing attack starring Collin Ashley who leads the area with a sick 14 receiving touchdowns. Hebron has one of the better rushing attacks in the area (210 yards per game) which can eat up the clock and keep Flower Mound's potent offense off the field. Hebron's defense is solid but not outstanding. The knock on Hebron. : It started off 0-3. But look at those three losses: a close one to Wylie (21-14) a close one to Mesquite (23-14) and a good effort against Plano (41-28). Those are three of the top 16 teams. Simply consult the handy Radio-TV listings provided here. They will also be published in the paper on game day. Of course you can always e-mail us during games saying things like "Great job!" "Attaboy!" and "Way to go!" Cedar Hill cross country coach Jason Covarrubias feared the worst when the first rain in almost a month came yesterday. Covarrubias is preparing for Thursday's Cedar Hill Invitational at Valley Ridge Park. As the rain started to fall he moved his team's practice from the park to the Ninth Grade Center to keep from destroying the paths. He also drove his pickup truck to the park before practice planning to change the course because of mud. The Army has tabbed the UT linebacker commit to play in the U. S. Army All-American bowl a great honor for any high school football recruit. The Army made a presentation to Allen this morning at the MacArthur fieldhouse. Since someone went to great trouble to draft a press release about this momentous event you can read it here: The area's high school basketball powers will appreciate the newest UIL changes. Especially with gas prices where they are. UIL assistant athletic director Darryl Beasley on Monday confirmed that the 5A Region I boys and girls basketball tournaments will be played in Fort Worth and not in Abilene for the 2008-09 season. -I hand out the mid-season Teppy Awards.-I explain who is going to surprise everyone in the second half.-I wrap up the big games of the weekend.-I give you a Youtube video of the week.-I reveal which game I'll be covering this week.-I add a new name to the infamous list of Measts. The South Grand Prairie football team worked out in its new indoor practice facility for the first time this morning. The $5 million facility has a 50-yard long turf field and a weight room that will be used by all the athletic teams. The old weight room is being converted into a wrestling room. There are nets suspended from the ceiling of the large room that can be used for indoor baseball and softball practice. Grand Prairie ISD athletic director Fred Clausen was on hand to see the reaction of the football players as they got their first look at their new digs including the sparkling weight equipment. Garland Naaman Forest defensive back Terrance Bullitt made a huge play Friday against Sachse intercepting a pass late in the fourth quarter to seal the 21-7 win. Bullitt has committed to Texas Tech. Not to be outdone his older brother. Melvin saved the Indianapolis Colts' miraculous comeback yesterday afternoon. The Naaman Forest and Texas A&M product picked off Houston Texans quarterback Sage Rosenfels with two minutes left to ice Indy's improbable 31-27 win. Both plays were overshadowed - Terrance's teammate D. J. Hendrix returned an interception for a touchdown while Colts linebacker Gary Brackett returned a fumble 68 yards for a score. All of you die-hard basketball fans by now should have your copies of magazine. If you haven't picked it up make sure you do. This year's magazine is loaded. Featured on the cover are three of the area's best - Duncanville's Shawn Williams and Roger Franklin and McKinney's G. J. Vilarino - among other standouts from around the state. They are a part of a group the TexPreps staff has dubbed "The Magnificent 7." Insidethe magazine features team bios from every district (think magazine for basketball) a preseason top 50 for boys and girls teams and a list of former Texas high school players playing Division I college basketball. The magazine also has a really nice Q&A with our good buddy Mike Kunstadt of Texashoops com the guy who made my job easier last basketball season on SportsDay's soon-to-be-Emmy-nominated weekly video. I moved Ennis to No. 2 in the 4A rankings. Waxahachie came close to upsetting Everman my previous No. 2 team early in the season in a game played at Everman. I dropped Corsicana to the bottom of the 4A poll after it lost at home to Waco Midway. 43-7. I remember hearing before the season that Midway was going to benefit with the sons of several new Baylor coaches on Art Briles' staff. I kept Wylie pretty close to where it was in my 5A poll but I rewarded Carrollton Creekview with a promotion after it stayed unbeaten with its win over Richardson Berkner. Wylie players might feel frustrated after. Don't. That loss at least in my opinion showed Wylie can go head-to-head with any of the top teams in the state. And that's where I struggle. One could assume that Wylie would drop in our rankings. Colleyville Heritage who was ranked one spot below Wylie last week remained undefeated with a win over Justin Northwest. But who would win between Colleyville Heritage and Wylie right now? Think about the level of competition Wylie has faced... And if Wylie and Plano meet again... Would Plano win? Another interesting question: Who should be No. 20 in 4A? I think it's going to be a battle between West Mesquite who won with a last second field goal or Lancaster who beat Mesquite Poteet 41-0. Maybe we are missing another team that should be considered. Just a quick scan of our scrolling scoreboard and it seems everyone in 5A who went into the weekend undefeated stayed that way. Well other than Wylie and Richardson Berkner who lost to fellow undefeateds Plano and Carrollton Creekview respectively. Speaking of Berkner-Creekview. I felt like the main character on "Life on Mars" (both the BCC and ABC versions) - transported back to 1973. Two option offenses hashing it out only a handful of passes. Quick game easy stats to compute. Then came Plano-Wylie: Lots of passing blocked punts big passes and critical penalties. This was more like "Pushing Daisies" - where with one touch - or rather two blocked punts - Wylie came back to life. But just as quickly another touch - a 38-yard pass to set up the winning score - silenced Wylie's hopes for good. Even though it didn't figure in the scoring. Cedar Hill sophomore QB Driphus Jackson made a highlight-reel run of 39 yards in the third quarter of a 14-0 win over South Grand Prairie. I counted six South Grand Prairie tacklers that got at least a hand on Jackson as he scrambled out of the pocket on third-and-15 at his own 25. He also made a couple of fakes that froze defenders. And this was against a South Grand Prairie defense that tackled very well all night. Jackson showed his cool later on a 24-yard touchdown pass to Oliver Wells but a holding penalty wiped out that score. Mitchell put a jarring hit on Wakeland all-everything player Jaime Harris in the end zone with no time on the clock preserving a 32-24 Centennial win and halting an incredible Wakeland rally. Wakeland had the ball on its own 32-yard line with 18 seconds left to play and QB Will Secord connected with Harris on a 55-yard pass play. Following an incomplete pass. Secord threw to Harris in the end zone. Harris had the ball but Mitchell's hit forced the most critical drop of the game. The Wildcats' victory was sealed when a Wylie receiver for some crazy reason lateraled the ball after catching a fourth down pass for enough yardage to extend the drive. The ball ended up at the bottom of a pile far short of the sticks. There were 18 seconds on the clock. Wylie had one timeout left and the ball in Plano territory. The odds weren't in the Pirates' favor but they certainly had a shot of pulling off the come-from-behind upset over the state's second-ranked Class 5A team. What a punch to the gut for Wylie. This reminds me of the game at Highland Park during Chase Gibson's senior year when the Pirates outplayed a perennial power on enemy turf only to board with bus with broken hearts. But let's not take anything away from Plano which showed tremendous poise after things unraveled for the Wildcats and Wylie took the lead early in the fourth quarter. QB Carson Meger and Co were cool as could be during the go-ahead drive efficiently moving 83 yards to seize the lead. RB Rex Burkhead bulled into the end zone for the go-ahead score but Plano proved tonight that it can put points on the board when the opposing defense contains the Wildcats' superstar. Anthony Williams Jr batted down a big fourth-down pass near the goal line with two minutes left to escape one possible disaster. Garrison Baker intercepted a Hail Mary on the final play of the game. Baker also rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown. After trailing Frisco Centennial. 32-3 in the third quarter. Frisco Wakeland has scored 21 unanswered points the latest touchdown a 7-yard Jamarr Brown run. There's 5:13 left in the game plenty of time for a fired-up Wakeland squad. Centennial needs a game-changing drive if it wants to keep the lead. Carson Meger hook to Holt Hoetger -- 9 yardsMeger hook to Kris Lott -- 12 yardsMeger hook to Lott -- 14 yardsIncomplete. Whitlock hurryScrambling Meger pass over middle to Hoetger -- 38 yardsRex Burkhead option left -- 4 yardsBurkhead toss right -- 6-yard TD I've been impressed with Frisco Wakeland's Jaime Harris the entire game. Harris just made a play that impressed me even more. Harris took a screen pass from Will Secord and broke several tackles to find the end zone from 29 yards out. Wakeland now trails Frisco Centennial. 32-17 with 10:27 left to play. Centennial better be careful. Whitlock has pretty much dominated the second half. Forget for a moment the return of a blocked punt for a go-ahead TD. The kid is constantly wreaking havoc in the Plano backfield. Case in point: He got great penetration to blow up what was supposed to be a reverse to Robert Robinson resulting in a poor pitch by Rex Burkhead that basically killed a Plano drive. The AHMO Army is going wild after Wylie blocked another punt. NT Nikita Whitlock scooped up the loose ball and rumbled about 10 yards for the TD. Not 100 percent sure who got the block but we believe it was Nick Knott again. Didn't get a replay from the homer big screen operators but they were happy to show the incomplete pass on the two-point conversion again. The blocked punt came after a three-and-out series. The Plano coaches were banging on the press box window in protest of a no-call on what they thought was pass interference on second down. No doubt about LB Toby Ball flying up the middle on a blitz for a sack the following play. LUFKIN - Galena Park North Shore broke Southlake Carroll's state record of 72 consecutive regular-season victories Friday with a 28-21 victory against Lufkin the Houston Chronicle's blog is reporting. North Shore which last played Sept. 5 defeated a 2-3 Lufkin team that had won 27 consecutive home games. Quarterback Alex Tillman hit Deandrew White with a 6-yard scoring pass with 26 seconds left to lift North Shore. Devon Gibson picked off a Lufkin pass with six seconds remaining to clinch it. The effects of Hurricane Ike caused North Shore to cancel three games including a Sept. 27 game with Carroll. UPDATE: It'll be third-and-goal from the 5 to begin the fourth quarter. Wylie trailing by eight with a chance to tie it up. Colleyville Heritage which is averaging more than 45 points a game is getting a tussle from Justin Northwest tonight correspondent Mark Buford reports. Heritage. 4-0 and No. 7 in SportsDay's area rankings just took a 21-10 lead on Bailey Crego's 5-yard run. Heritage set up the TD with a long kick return following Northwest's fumble recovery for a score which had made the score 14-10. Dallas Christian ate up 7:21 on the opening drive of the second half. After running back Garrison Baker was stopped twice on goal-line stands he finally broke through on third down to score the touchdown. The Wildcats have managed to move the ball consistently despite Wylie accomplishing its mission of shutting down RB Rex Burkhead who has been held to 39 yards on 14 carries. Corbett Smith reports that Rockwall-Heath turned a tie into a two-TD lead over Rockwall lickity-split in the second half. That can happen when you hand the ball to a kid like Kendial Lawrence. Lawrence has scored on runs of 62 and 42 yards in the third quarter. He has rushed for 232 yards and three TDs on 15 carries. And he caught a 17-yard TD pass. UPDATE: Oops. Wylie botched a handoff the next play. Plano LB Alex LaButis pounced on the loose ball at midfield. Hamblin has thrown for 227 yards and two TDs -- both to Marquis Goodwin. Rowlett just took a 24-14 lead on Treyvon Green's 8-yard run. You all know how I feel about halftime band shows.. so the following praise may actually shock some of you. Frisco Wakeland opened with an interesting show where members of the drill team (I think it's the drill team) changed from caterpillars to butterflies. What made this show nice was that the drill team members came out wearing green then - somehow or another - went under individual cloaks and changed into multi-colored ensembles. It was like a David Blaine-type of illusion - except this illusion was good. Frisco Centennial's band decided to play a game of Clue - yes the board game Clue. They have three big banners on the field: The dining room the kitchen and the library. When I played Clue - the three times in my life - I always answered the same way: Professor Plum in the kitchen with a knife. The shows are now over and we're all ready for more football. Oh wait.. tonight is homecoming for Centennial. Wow... The upset watch is still on but Garland Naaman Forest has a 14-7 lead over Sachse after QB Derrick Osborn connected with WR John Harris for a 40-yard TD pass. RB Jonathon Miller an OU recruit has 190 yards and a TD on 20 carries with a little more than three minutes to go in the third quarter. Ennis. No. 4 in SportsDay's area rankings leads No. 8 Waxahachie. 28-6 at the half. Jon Nielsen reports. Centennial turned two Wakeland turnovers into 12 points and with the offense it actually has used its scored 13 additional points. QB Ryan Mossakowski has completed 13 of 18 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. WR Bryan Singer who has one of the touchdown receptions has four catches for 101 yards. Everything isn't bad for Wakeland. ATH Jaime Harris has been a beast all over the place. As a WR he has two catches for 37 yards. As a DB he has two interceptions and nearly returned the second one for what would have been a 90-yard touchdown. I'd ask for more details but there's no way I can get any objectivity from that Yellow Jackets homer. UPDATE: Got some info from Corbett Smith our unbiased correspondent at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium. Rockwall-Heath RB Kendial Lawrence is running wild. He has rushed for 104 yards and a TD on 12 carries and also has a 17-yard TD catch. Rockwall tied it up on QB Adam Dingwell's TD run with 13 seconds remaining in the half. Dingwell hit Will Beasley for a 63-yard completion a couple plays earlier to set up the score. Dallas Christian started to make a big drive into Prestonwood Christian territory but a fumble on a pitch to Blake Rudd and big return gave Prestonwood the ball back at the Dallas Christian 37. Prestonwood quarterback Kaleb Kyser fired three straight completions the final one to Luke Taylor for an 11-yard touchdown to regain the lead. Taylor's had quite a night so far: three catches for 39 yards and three touchdowns. Call that making the most of the touches you get. In the photo to the right. Dallas Christian quarterback Corey Brooks carries the ball as a host of Prestonwood Christian Academy defenders including linebacker Clifton Bryant (44) and linebacker Tyler Kleinert (4) move in for the stop in the first half of the TAPPS 2-II game. PHOTO BY MIKE STONE Frisco Centennial QB Ryan Mossakowski used a pump fake to his advantage baiting Frisco Wakeland defenders and finding WR Bryan Singer for a 53-yard touchdown reception. There's 59 seconds left in the half and Centennial is cruising. 25-3. Centennial's only problem tonight has been its kicking game. Its botched two extra points one missing wide left and the other fumbled. SGP had good field position two possessions in second quarter but it wound up with third-and-33 on one and third-and-16 on other. Needless to say. SGP failed to convert. Cedar Hill has rushed for 89 yards led by Ben Malena with 29 yards on six carries. Tyrus McGlothen leads SGP with 24 yards on 11 carries but as a team. South has only five rushing yards. Part of the problem for South Grand Prairie is snaps in the shotgun formation. Doesn't appear the ball is getting to QB Ryan Campos where he wants it. Six Campos carries have resulted in minus 27 yards. Wylie turned the ball over on downs deep in Plano territory. A receiver dropped a perfect pass from Jerod Monk on first down. Wylie followed that up with an incompletion a sack and a pass that was 10 yards short of the first down. Plano got the ball with 32 seconds to go but didn't give any of its playmakers a chance to pad the lead. Carson Meger kneeled on the ball instead. Freelance writer Billy Eichenholz reports that Pinkston running back Aaron Spikes ran for 297 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries in the first half against North Dallas. Spikes has scoring runs of 36. 54. 34 and 49 yards as Pinkston leads. 33-6 at halftime. Spikes entered the game second among 4A area rushers with 849 yards and he had run for 10 touchdowns. Frisco Wakeland finally gets on the board with a 24-yard field goal by Brennon Satre with 1:31 left until halftime. Wakeland trails Frisco Centennial. 19-3. Credit Centennial's defense for making quality stops. Wakeland's Jaime Harris intercepted his second pass of the night to give the Wolverines a first-and-goal situation at the 10-yard line. Centennial however held Wakeland out of the end zone with strong play by its defensive backs. Dunne was suppose to host this game but its stadium renovations are not complete. So Dunne is wearing its home navy uniforms made Nolan wear their white uniforms and Dunne brought over some Dallas officials. That's about all the hospitality Nolan would extend however. Garland Naaman Forest the No. 4 team in SportsDay's 5A area rankings has a battle on its hands against Sachse. Freelance writer Derek Johnson reports that Naaman Forest running back Jonathon Miller has run for 138 yards and a touchdown but the score is tied. 7-7 at halftime. As I look at Centennial's roster they have a Manuel Duchane-Carroll and an Emmanuel Duchane-Carroll. There's also a Dominique Carroll and the announcer's calling him Dominique Duchane-Carroll. I'm so confused right now. And to make matters worse there's a red Teletubby walking around the Centennial side of the bleachers. Not really sure what his purpose is. Imoh Edohoukwa the Centennial defensive back who intercepted Wakeland QB Will Secord's pass for a touchdown in the first quarter just caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Mossakowski to give the Titans a 19-0 lead. Prestonwood returned the kickoff after Brandon Durham's touchdown run all the way to the Dallas Christian 22. Moments later quarterback Kaleb Kyster throws a 24-yard pass to Luke Taylor who gets into the end zone. Wylie needed a TD to make sure this game didn't get out of hand. WR Justin Thompson came through with a pretty catch for a 16-yard score capping a 12-play. 80-yard drive. Scrambling QB Jerod Monk found Thompson wide open in the back corner of the end zone. Thompson made a leaping catch and tapped his toes inbounds. Brandon Durham rushes up the middle breaks one tackle and finds 82 yards of open space in front of him. No one else touches him again and he strides into the end zone. Prestonwood Christian blocks the extra point - their second blocked kick of the night - to make it 13-7 with 11:23 left in the second quarter. Plano's Luke Terrell got his paws on Jerod Monk's punt and Laron Kelly scooped it up and returned it 33 yards to the Wylie 3. Monk was lined up a little deeper than his regular shotgun spot but Terrell didn't have to go far to get the block. That led to Plano's second consecutive one-play touchdown drive. Rex Burkhead rumbled for the 6-yard score. Extra point failed. Colleague Keith Whitmire wryly notes that Wylie is winning the time-of-possession battle by a whole bunch. The score: Plano 20. Wylie 7 with 24 seconds to go in the first quarter. Wakeland shot itself in the foot for the second time and Centennial made Wakeland pay for it once again. Wakeland's beautiful drive - one that went 71 yards - was halted by a snap that sailed over QB Will Secord's head. Centennial DB Johnny Markham scooped up the fumble and raced 60 yards for a Titan touchdown. The defense has scored all of the points. Plano took the lead on the play immediately after forcing a punt that didn't result in a roughing-the-kicker call. Everybody knows Rex Burkhead is a big-play machine but he's not the only Plano RB who is a home run threat. Robert Robinson just took a short pass and turned it into an 88-yard touchdown hitting the right sideline and leaving Wylie DBs in his wake. That's 108 yards on two touches for Robinson tonight. Memo to Wylie: That kid will make you pay for keying on Burkhead. A nice stand by the defense and a shanked punt gave Dallas the ball at Prestonwood's 46. After a run stuff. Dallas Christian capitalized on Prestonwood's fear of the rushing game. Brooks faked a handoff beautifully rolled to the left and fired a strike to Withrow in the flat. Withrow's blazing speed took care of the rest. Start of Cedar Hill-South Grand Prairie now in a 25-minute delay for lights. Three of the four towers are working. The head coaches. Rob Davies of SGP and Joey McGuire of Cedar Hill met briefly about 10 minutes ago. Teams are back on the field stretching so I guess they are going to play without full power. New kickoff time according to scoreboard is 8 p m. The punt in addition helped Centennial get on the board first against Wakeland. Will Secord threw an interception to Imoh Edohoukwa who returned it 11 yards for a Centennial TD. Plano responded to Wylie's TD drive by marching 65 yards on seven plays to tie the score. Rex Burkhead had three carries for 24 yards and QB Carson Meger capped the drive with a 19-yard pass to wide-open WR Kris Lott. Plano reached into its razzle-dazzle bag right away opening the possession with a reverse to Robert Robinson that gained 20 yards. A halfback pass from Burkhead to Meger fell incomplete. The bad news? Prestonwood only ate up 3:08 of the clock and it's handing the ball over to a powerful ground game. Those are the important stats from the opening possession of the Wylie-Plano game. The big play was a 32-yard gain by RB/WR Colby Harper on a perfectly executed read zone option play where QB Jerod Monk sucked up the defense with a play fake and pitched the ball at the perfect time. The Plano fellas who run the flags during pregame festivities apparently wanted to make sure the Wylie folks knew who they were playing. The letters were backwards to the home side which is standing room only. Still 1,000 or so seats available on the visitor's side of John Clark Field/Stadium but there's a stream of headlights coming in off Spring Creek Parkway. The schools are separated by only 10.38 miles so it was just a matter of time before they landed in the same district once Cedar Hill grew to Class 5A status. South Grand Prairie is riding a four-game winning streak including a win over Irving Nimitz last week in its 7-5A opener. Even though both teams have explosive skill position players. I'm thinking this is going to be a defensive game. I'm guessing 24 points will be enough to win. But then again. I thought the Cubs were headed to the Series. Some of you Springsteen fans may call him "The Boss." We'll see if he can put on a better Super Bowl performance than Prince did a couple of years back - with an electric guitar in the rain coincidentally singing "Purple Rain." It's homecoming night at Lions Stadium in Plano with Dallas Christian and Prestonwood Christian about a half hour from kickoff. The stands are starting to fill up and the sun is thankfully beginning to set. The press box is facing the west so the sooner it sets the better - I'd rather not squint into the sun for the entire game. The homecoming theme is A Hero's Homecoming and I saw a few floats shaped like battleships and tanks on the walk into the stadium. I'm expecting a close game tonight and a great battle between Dallas Christian's stingy defense and Prestonwood Christian's great passing attack on offense. I'll keep you posted throughout the night. I've arrived at Frisco ISD Memorial Stadium. This is my first trip here. Good looking stadium no doubt. I'm expecting a good ball game between District 9-4A opponents Frisco Centennial (3-1. 1-0) and Frisco Wakeland (3-1. 0-1). I've heard a lot about Centennial QB Ryan Mossakowski. With a 67-percent completion clip and his last week against McKinney North. I can see why Kentucky fans were excited to see him commit. Can he keep it up in a big district game against cross-town rival Wakeland? And speaking of QBs. Wakeland has a pretty good one in Will Secord. WRs Jaime Harris and Dallas Grier should keep the Centennial defense busy. Wakeland is hungry for a district win after losing,35-21 to McKinney last week. If Wylie pulled off an upset over Plano tonight at John Clark Field/Stadium it would be the Pirates' biggest win as a Class 5A program. You better believe that Wylie will pull out all the stops. We might even see some swinging gate action. The Pirates are practicing that sort of snap at midfield right now about an hour before kickoff. Big Noah Cheshier is the cat on the receiving end of the snap. My advice to Plano is to not get too cute with the play-calling. Get the ball in the hands of the Wildcats' playmakers (RB Rex "Superman" Burkhead and WR Kris Lott) and let Wylie's defense try to stop 'em. Could have a full house here tonight for the battle of unbeatens. Plano fans should be ashamed if they don't pack the home side and the AHMO Army always travels well. Here is a look at the top 5 highest scoring games: 143 -- El Paso Burges 87. El Paso Austin 56. 2004138 -- Somerville 70. Thrall 68. 1998130 -- Menard 82. Eden 48. 1962130 -- Centerville 82. "Why I'm Starting to Hate Sports" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-07 23:39:39

Let me start this masterpiece off by telling you my favorite teams:MLB: YanksNBA: None. I don't desire NBA ball much. NFL: GiantsNCAAF: NDNCAAB: NovaNHL: IslandersThat's what matters to me in sports. I've always loved sports. I've played baseball all my life as come up as soccer and basketball for a while with a touch of football. But sports has been the thing where I've always known about. Now it seems to me that every major organization is falling to pieces. I'm really starting to hate listening to the $h!t that comes out of populate's mouths on ESPN and other networks because it's totally biased and false. I listed my favorite teams at the top to make people understand. I'm not someone who sits at the top. I'm not a UNC fan. Duke. New England. San Antonio. Ottawa etc fan. The teams that every commentator and analyst on ESPN loves. Not my call. I've been with the same teams since I've known sports. But anyways. First of all the NFL. The NFL is a joke. Starting with last night's game. First of all the New England Patriots ARE the best team in the NFL. But no every announcer in the world they did not show it measure night. The Ravens HANDED them that game but everyone ignores that. The only cerebrate the bet had that result is because the Patriots are the greatest team ever. The great Tom Brady did not bring about the Pats down the handle he failed on FOUR FOURTH DOWNS. Count them. FOUR. ONE I blame on Baltimore for calling the timeout. That's it. Delayed false start calls? Holding penalties? This is the nonsense that I'm talking about. Everybody falls in love with the big team and when they are at fault everyone looks the other way as the referees insulted the game of football. What a joke let's just not change surface have the Steelers or the Jets or the Dolphins or my Giants play if they are going to hand the game to New England anyway. It's really awful what's going on in this league. How about baseball now. The Yankees undergo always been labeled as the team that buys their players. And they do. And they are annoying me as well. Offering Phil Hughes and Melky Cabrera for Santana? Santana is a great pitcher but this is the garbage that I hate. Every Yankee fan talks about adjust Yankees (I dislike A-Rod) yet turns the other way as the Yankees go out and try and change for everyone they can. They can defeat Boston with the team they have now they don't need to trade their young talent for Santana or Haren or anybody. They are so impatient. And with steroids. Oh boy. The "greatest hitter of all.

The players introductions are much like bedevil 08. The Players comes in and everything freezes for a second to show the player name in the furnish. Players react are more life like(during fouls and etc.) The commentary is just about the same as 07. I heard some of the same phrases. Its just a demo( commentary could easily change) France and Spain were available in the show(EA showing off newly obtained FIBA rights) The graphics are definitely improved from last year. Everything from the crowd to the sweat is here. What do you evaluate from a next gen system? The walk of the bet is allitle faster but. Not that much. "Who needs good Luck when you have McNeal?" posted by ~Ray

You experience. I experience what this sounds like but I was THIS CLOSE to picking move over Stratford in my predictions. I mean that week. I ranked them within the top ten of my HCN Football 5A poll and seriously intensely considered picking them over Stratford. I’m so not trying to say “I told you so” because in the end. I didn’t choose Spring. But I wanted to go on here and let everyone experience how close I was to picking my team over the favored Stratford. This indecision was based on a be of reasons but primarily because I was flabbergasted with the Lions’ performance against Smithson Valley which was one of the best high educate teams I’ve ever seen in a desire time. We all know about. I’m sure Coach Karas himself is egest of my talking about that game. So we’ll move on. Joe pointed out to me at the beginning of the toughen that he thought that if a team could change state Andrew Luck down they would change state the Spartans as a aggroup drink too. When I saw the Lions’ “D,” it totally occurred to me that they could be the aggroup to do it. I mean: Charles Solomon. Derek Batiste. Cody Pflughoeft. Tahare Ray. Lyncarlos Madumere. I could go on. In the end. I thought … come up. I don’t even know what I thought. Maybe I wanted a show of consistency before I committed my choose to such an upset. I should have never lost faith in my Lions. They desire I’ve said a thousand times never lost faith in themselves. I couldn’t be happier if I played on that team myself (Of cover if I did compete on the team they would have never open themselves in this lay. But that’s another story.). Nice job guys. You undergo a lot of talent and a lot of hover. I can’t wait for next week. Heck. I can’t act for the be of the toughen because I evaluate it’s going to be a longer one than a lot of populate expected. be at for the the beat story and of course be for our additional coverage in this week’s papers. One more thing in parting. Along with possessing talent poise and everything else the Lions are extremely well-coached. We all knew that already but tonight it’s more evident than ever. Happy 100th win. Sonny.

Last year is over with in terms of that. We’ll try to defeat them because they are good they are well coached and they compete hard.”The bet can be heard on KETR 88.9 FM at 6 p m.
