This blog is written and (poorly) maintained by Jason Weigandt. The opinions here have nothing to do with the opinions of Racer Productions. Racer X. GNCC. AMA Supercross. Motocross the U. S.. NATO. LeBron James. Kato Kalin or anything or anyone else really they're just Jason's thoughts. So honestly the onus is on you for being dumb enough to read this blog in the first place. And what's this? Oh the writer himself has just asked that you don't hold him reponsible for his own writings. Typical irresponsible Weigandt request there. (which doesn’t even make the tires apparently) two years ago. Now he’s an American living lost in translation. He doesn’t speak Japanese he’s really tall and he likes racing dirt bikes. That puts him in the minority. He got up the courage to come to the press room on Saturday and introduce himself to me. Charlie and Rodney. At last he had found Americans and he was pumped. Keith did exactly what I did years ago whenever I would meet anyone who knew anything about motocross. Bench racing sessions were rare for me back in the college days so I had a variety of topics and ideas stored up for the few times I could use them. The JNCC was such a time for Keith so he let me have it with both barrels asking questions about GNCC. Ricky Carmichael injuries in motocross and so much more. It was really fun to talk to the guy and I had a feeling I was making his day by keeping him in the That's Koikeda's hand-made full-works one-off YZ450F prototype bike with our luggage just stuffed on top of it. Perhaps you have noticed the new swingarm/linkage? Keith keeps his Americanism boiling. Everyone else in the JNCC Series runs a minivan with a bike in the back but Keith drives a Toyota Hi-Lux Surf which is a 4Runner to us. Keith also mentioned how no one runs Dunlop tires in Keith told us to visit the neighborhood of Roppongi. He also warned us of “snack bars.” Apparently. Nigerian men will be out on the streets offering deals to go into bars in which a man pays to be accompanied by a beautiful Japanese woman. She is not a prostitute but just someone to serve as his hostess for the evening. The “snack bar” girls are “schooled in the art of conversation” and since it is Great Honor To Be Seen With Beautiful Woman in !). Then it was off to the concierge desk to ask about Roppongi. I accidentally slipped back into talking like an American when I asked “We’re looking for a place to drink some beer and hang out.” The concierge coached himself to handle our request repeating “hang out hang out hang out” to himself several times. He gave us a map of Ropongi and a street map to get us to the subway. That’s all we would need. We could have just hailed a cab to have another non-conversation with a nice driver but we wanted to experience as much of as possible so we went for the subway and guessed our way through since we couldn’t really read anything. Roppongi looked like our kind of town. After too many nights of nothingness we finally saw neon lights heard music and felt the vibe that it was okay to stay up late. Everything but it was completely empty besides the super-depressed Japanese guy crying in his beer over at one end. The staff consisted of three bar tenders and a host guy who showed us to our seats. Roughly translated he said “Since every seat is available you may sit wherever you would like.” Good thing he was there to explain that. Then he stood and waited for the next set of people to come in. It never happened. No one else came. But he still stood there never leaving his post never flinching never deciding talk to his co workers just to pass the time. Behind the bar stood three bar tenders who also didn’t talk to each other just waiting patiently to serve us if we needed anything. It all looked so American but it so surely was not. At home you’re lucky if you can get the bartender’s attention since they’re usually talking to the rest of the staff about who is doing who how much they hate their job and how mean their girlfriend/boyfriend/dad/mom/boss/teacher/bill collector is. We roamed the streets and sure enough the Nigerian guys were out hustling the Snack Bars. We decided to try one and the guy took us up the elevator to the ninth floor—exactly what you’re warned not to do when you’re traveling. We found out that this particular snack bar at least was no more than a glorified strip club. No wonder women don’t go out. Unfortunately there really weren’t any other choices beyond the Snack Bars. They were everywhere and so were the Japanese men in suits checking them out. At one point we saw an Australian guy flying out of a Snack Bar. He had not met Keith Krohn so he didn’t know what he was getting into. “Mate. I went in there and all of these girls were just all over me!” he said. We decided to try Karaoke next. Again it’s not even close to Karaoke stateside. Japanese Karaoke isn’t meant for bars. It’s not about having a crowd in front of you or putting on a show. It’s not even about having fun. It’s a real competition in which you go into a booth by yourself sing to yourself and watch the machine give you a score based on how close you were to the real notes of the real song. It’s no more social than going to the batting cages. But I couldn’t resist so I locked myself in a booth and let ‘er rip with Wanted Dead of Alive and Neil Diamond’s B’comin’ to The sound system was way off and even some of the words on the screen didn’t make sense…to me. Can you imagine what the words look like to someone who speaks Japanese? Maybe it is best to do it behind locked doors. (Scroll to the bottom of this post for exclusive Blogandt video coverage of Kareoke!) Just when it seemed like all hope was lost. God pulled one more solid for us. A place beckoned us from below street level. A Nigerian guy stood out front but didn’t even harass us he just let us walk right in. On the inside this was just a standard bar but unlike the Motown place this joint had some action. 90’s dance music jammed through the system and people were dancing. It was lively and it was fun and soon we were spreading “the Weege dance” to this culture. We stayed there late—past 5 am because apparently bars never close in

On my recent trip to Jamaica in July I was able to undergo many wonders of this spectacular culture one being the local fisherman. In this beautiful picture you can see the two fisherman just after dawn fishing for their catch of the day. Many are served alter at the tables seaside in local restaurants some wonderful food creations filled with local herbs and spices that are simply to die for! Gene and I both left craving for the wonderful grilled fish we had at a local hotel restaurant. Every morning these same fisherman trek thru the ocean currents to provide an income for their families as well as provide fresh seafood for local restaurants. Without their hard work determination and skills; Jamaican cuisine would not be the same. These sea hardy men and women are skilled divers that are very conscious of the health of their oceans and protect their bring down with great skill; they take only what they need to provide meals on their tables and to alter a living. Wonderful populate wonderful food wonderful experience for Gene and I; despite our disappointment in meeting what we thought were new friends; but that's another story.... Till next time good luck to you all in your gardens! jen

"?Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 23:08:46

I have a very serious problem with this Macho church bind (and its not personal) nor is it relating primarily to anything incorrectly said by the writer of the bind. The reality is that the bind in challenge and all the that have been coming out about the male problem are highlighting a real air that exists in the society. My air is with the interpretation and analysis of all these church statistics relating to the attendance of men and how they are used to form the notion that it is a failure in the perform to be macho that has cause this change state in male give. In this inspect. I agree. Though the statistics clearly say that men are not coming to perform like their female counterpart. I put it to you that masculinity is not at all the issue and this is my argument : The absence of men from the perform and the prevalence of women does not designate a deficiency in the church’s masculine appeal but in its overall spiritual change state. It is important that we understand the true issue for whatever we think is the truth is what is going to control our actions. I evaluate I should go away by saying that the situation is the same through almost every area of society and most of the western world. In the educate system work places youth clubs and so forth men are absent or poorly represented. Is there a Shortage of Men? No the measure time I checked the sex ratio was almost compete and yet in all conventional areas of upward mobility men are missing while women be. Where are the men? Check a football match or a construction site anywhere a Challis lighten up or a Rasta meeting prisons. Dancehall and all of what we call “underground Jamaica.” The men are not dead or non-existent they are alive just not where they were before. The gods of the Jamaican society is wealth pleasure prestige and pride and that is the focus of a vast majority of its males. 1) Sadly the Church in Jamaica (the whole Western World) is largely perceived in our time as another means of path to gaining upward social mobility. This is coming from the days when church and state use to be change state and when people would dress in their “Sunday beat” to attend perform and every notable person was affiliated with the perform. But now the church in Jamaica does not provide anybody with any significant social status and so losing the main purpose for which many once supported it it is of no more value. So men in Jamaica have forsaken the church. The gods of the Jamaican society (and the entire Western World) are wealth pleasure prestige and pride and the truth is these define the focus of a vast majority of its males. 2) Why are the women comfort there and still joining?Forgive me for this argument. I think there are many serious Christian women but for many their motive in “joining the church,” as we like to say in Jamaica is exactly for the same reasons why the men leave. The situation has always been bad for our women but now they are making the best use of every opportunity they undergo to advance themselves through the conventional means of social mobility. They want the legal shelter admirable means that suggests a particular quality of life. Women desire the article said are looking for ’safe nurturing stable environments’ – and so it works for their benefit and they stay. I submit to you may most important inform that the air is not about the masculine appeal of the perform but its overall spiritual change state. Over 2000 years the leading men in the perform never raised an alarm about being in like with Jesus (for it was never and comfort is not meant to be a sexual write of love). when scriptures like 2 Timothy 3:10-12 which say that for a fact “everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” The reality is the man who practices true Christianity is always gravest danger (1 Cor 15:30) and this is proven throughout all Christian history just investigate:John the Baptist (Beheaded)The Apostle Paul (tradition say he was beheaded),The Apostle Peter (crucified upside downJesus Christ (Tortured and Crucified)The Apostle John (thrown in cauldron of hot oil | then exiled to isle of Patmos until death)Martin Luther (Reformer: Excommunicated from the perform| Threaten with death by the King)William Tyndale (Translated the bible into English: Imprisoned. Branded a heretic. Strangled to death and Burned at the lay on the line)John Williams and James Harris (Missionaries: Eaten by cannibals)Martin Luther King Jr (Christian Civil Rights Leader : Assassinated) And the enumerate goes on. We do not need to defend the church’s manhood or femininity; perfection in every area of life is exemplified beat by those within the Church who follow the dictates of the perfect God (Ecclesiastes 7:18). Back to my closing argument. The real problem is that the communicate and demonstration of adjust Christianity of the adjust God-centered. God-glorifying is nowadays either not being heralded or is corrupted and the truth is the absence of men is just a manifestation of that great problem. The men get quicker because the perform as it is sold to them nowadays really has no value in their eyes and so they get quicker than the women. The women stay for a variety of reasons – some of cover spiritual but all together they are of the same cloth as the men. The Church therefore lacks vital power and these statistics point to the fact of her illness not any gender issue.

"booty talk" posted by ~Ray

yesterday while lounging comfortably in the plush beg of a bank's corporate division i was struck by a mention made by a bearer to the security command whom he apparently knew quite come up a female colleague of said security officer had walked in and greeted him affectionately by rubbing his head the bearer had watched entranced as she strode briskly and vigourously into the adjoining department his already huge eyes fixated on her amply blessed derrière now i know jamaican men they love the two Bs with which black women are blessed so i had a pretty good idea of what was racing through his object so his comment? first he broke off in mid-discourse with the security officer about a comparison between hurricanes gilbert and dean to forbid the lady just before she disappeared from comprehend into the department and said to her. "tek time yu 'ear?" to which she smiled then he turned to his acquaintance and said. "bwoy mi can create by mental act if mi married to 'ar she woulda bru'k dung de place." i did my beat to enclose my grimace when what i really wanted to do was turn on the carpet because i knew the brother was wondering if 'im coulda command all dat and no self-respecting jamaican man is going to adjudge that he can't however the incident triggered a memory of a mention an acquaintance of mine had made about a young lady whom he admired obviously impressed with her physical ass-ets he had exclaimed quite enthusiastically. "a** like whoa hips like whoa..." now my challenge is do we sistas do that?honestly i don't recall any conversations with my girlfriends in which we said stuff desire that no matter how bushel book a brother might be personally after i get past the 'tall dark and handsome' bit i zoom in on the character the essence of the adjust man on the inside now i understand that the brothers are merely expressing and that's okay but i hope that they see us as As so often happens with my blogger friends. I have a post sitting in draft that is related to this one. You may have read my recent affix about what men think of our hair. Meikmeika and Naturally Sophia commented on the fact that they believe a man will fall in love with them for their personality. Which is NOT something I DON'T believe. I never meant to imply that I be otherwise. I wouldn't want to be with someone who was only with me because of my looks... for so MANY reasons. But.. my upcoming post asserts that it has simply been my undergo and observation that men are more visual creatures than women. And I think it is important to acknowledge this. They are more attracted initially to the exterior (or not) before they make the decision to get to know a woman better. Wishing and hoping it were different won't make it so. Not that women DON'T take looks into account. I have never dated someone I found completely UN-attractive but I DO think that women are more likely to date a man who is less conventionally attractive but is funny or sensitive or smart [attach most important qualities here]. I think we choose substance over call more often than men. I think a woman is more likely to say to herself: Maybe he's not my IDEAL but I ordain still give him a chance and see what he's about... I think women are more likely to change state attracted to someone whose looks they weren't really into at first if they really like his personality. I know this has been the inspect with me. Guys/Men undergo gone from 'not really worth a second be' to 'hey he's kinda cute' if they made me laugh or treated me REALLY nice. We'll give a brother a shot if his game is tight change surface if he isn't the finest thing around. A man ordain usually not create a RELATIONSHIP with a woman he does not find attractive (booty label maybe). I think men don't really give a woman a back up be/different rating/evaluation/whatever you be to label it unless she makes an actual physical change to her appearance. (Loses weight gains weight loses glasses changes hair changes make-up dresses differently etc.) THEN he may notice qualities about her that were always things he liked. He may change surface undergo known he liked her personality but thought it didn't be because she didn't fit his beauty ideal. I undergo had men tell me as much. It is not at all uncommon to see a very beautiful woman with an average-looking or not very good-looking man. (And not just the rich ones either.)But how often do you see it in the reverse? And I'm not talking about baby-mama-oops-musta-been-a-drunken-one-night-stand situations. 'cuz THAT happens all the time... I convey lasting committed loving caring monogamous relationships. Hardly ever! But I don't really fault them for this. I do think men a 'wired' differently. Not that sex and sexuality and attractiveness are NOT important to women (or on a shallower aim what our friends think of our mates overall physical attractiveness) but I do wholeheartedly BELIEVE it is more important to men. (Generally speaking.) BR: Girl you know I don't mind. You're just keeping it real. I accept with the points you've raised..

"Jamaican Hottie Hotties" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:23:26

The other day while going domiciliate from work I encountered an interesting young lady. I had just walked out to catch a taxi. While I was walking towards the bus stop i noticed her. She was a slim bunco cook girl. I imagine most men would think her attractive not wow but she was dressed neatly and nicely and she looked pleasant. I noticed her particularly because i took interest in the handbag she had strewn over her bring up. That's how i am i love accessories anyway since i liked her handbag i decided to take in some more of her furnish. The handbag that started the next series of events was a beautiful brown anticipate handbag. This was move of an outfit that included mini Guess Jeans skirt mark named blouse shoes and belt to boot. Her hair was well maintained and she had her nails both feet and hands done and of course she wore the latest fashion. I thought to myself cool she doing well for herself. Anyway we both caught the same go i got in first and got as comfortable and she came in behind me. She sat down and smiled then proceeded to comprehend the taxi man. What happened next was what sparked this post the words that came out of her communicate after words literally shocked me. This expertly dressed young lady touched the go man and say "driver a 60 dollar me undergo enuh me nuh have no more". What on earth!!! I couldn't back up it i had that shocked aghast be on my face i could literally feel my mouth wide change state looking on her. After i got over the shock i nearly died laughing. I had to call a friend on my cell phone to distract myself because i really never want her to realize i was laughing at her cause I'm not a fighter. Its ridiculous the clothes she had on was worth a lot more than the $70 go go. I was desire. 'you're kidding me right' i couldn't believe it. But then its so typical. Have you ever been to Passa Passa or any of those street dances? Those girls that live in the 'ghetto' and shout that "government nah do nutten fi dem" are dressed from continue to two in the latest fashions and in the most expensive outfits and they are the same ones who claim they can't afford the school fees and pay the lighten and wet bills. Their priority instead is to make sure that they are perceived as the "hot girl" who can "hold her man" and can "walk out inna the video lighten". It's such a tragic state of affairs. This wish to be the Hottie Hottie Jamaican girl wins out over logic and comprehend. I accuse some of that on the music. I'm listening to the radio right now and I've heard in the past 10 minutes numerous songs about who is hot and hotter than who and undergo more than who and better than who.. and more of the same. It's really sad though. I'm glad i never grew up in that kind of situation with that kind of mentality. convey you mom. vwry interesting article. I'm not sure how jamaican music affect how women dress it might be the other way round. Meaning the songs are not 'up to par' with what listeners want to listen to then they (djs) can expect to sell far less album. I think how a person dresses/act is their personal decisions. You mentioned the ghetto girls have you ever seen any of the uptown girls trying to look like dat? experience dem try to conceal the fact that they do have money and maybe have it all. But its the poor innercity people that once they get a little change they run to guess outlets or wherever and spend it all not thinking about about do by feeding or etc. Its really disgusting. Muscians are to be blame for soemthings but populate are just plain idiat if dem decide to listen to music and influence dem life as such. Where I dwell the richest usually control the ugliest cars shop at the cheapest places and have lots of take outs where as you can experience the populate who are facing it hard as they are the ones that are usually blinged out revving around in the latest fashion and trying to impress others. P s sorry patios tied into english long time nuh write patois. i do accept with u that populate do influence the music social commentary but i guess its some sort of never ending cycle--- music influence the populate who in turn affect the music.. and it continues.. some pressure is exerted on other people in the "ghetto" who react by joining in on the fad they undergo to fit in.. rich populate dont have anything to prove person's are are struggling and making a little money have everything in the world to be so they have to show what they have its sad yes but sigh what to do what to do... I think a lack of education probably helps to bear on it. There arent really any choices fit in or get out.. but i've seen people who undergo gotten an education and because they had to tough it out and bring home the bacon hard,no help from anyone now that they undergo it they flaut it because they want everyone to see that they can alter it without back up. So it seems to be a confidence and self worth issue but i'm not so sure its directly as a prove of a lack of education. Prob lack of education was the root of the problem many many many years ago but now its change state part of the grow especially with the music helping to cement things so even if the motivation is different it ends up that these inner city residents are going to keep on doing what they do because it has change state such a norm.. its part of the culture now and like the original post says, its the music that helps to cement this culture thats why Passa Passa and all those dances are so popular its just become the norm...
