"The Quickest And Easiest Way To Break Bad Habits" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 21:32:26

Human nature has created creatures of habits and on a regular day to day basis we tend to do many things we love this forms a sort of a pattern that we can assume is a habit once we get to really like doing that same thing over and over again. But we can have bad habits as well as good habits and you should advance the good habits. It is a form of addiction whereby we can’t act to do that same particular thing every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s smoking gambling drugs watching T. V or just shopping. All are habits and every one of us goes through life picking up habits. Your no exception to this. My main focus will be on bad habits because they can bring more injure than good. Bad habits are very easy to go away and can be a very difficult problem in the long run and can be a pain in the adjoin to get rid of. While writing this article it made me focus on two really bad habits that I had when I was a youngster and the power I got from breaking those habits taught me a lesson I cherished very much and that also gave me the power to break any bad apparel that I picked up later in life. Your toughest job is always acknowledging that you have a bad habit once you can give into such then you will be able to break any bad habit. It all starts when you give into what your doing that is forming your bad habit. To be able to ditch anything that is wrong you first have to acknowledge that it is wrong. Many of you don’t grasp this affect and go screaming at them and trying to help people that undergo habits whom have not given into the fact that they have a problem. You can’t back up anyone with a problem if they have not given into the fact that it is a problem they are not seeing it as a problem - so you can’t help them - because they don’t want to help themselves. If you have a family member close friend or anyone you wish to help please don’t go talking about their habit try to reason with them and see if they agree with you that they have a habit that is bringing them down. If they don’t agree then nothing you say or whatever I write here won’t help them either. I have spoken with many friends and even close family members that has bad habits but they are not giving into the fact they say nothing is wrong with them. I have one such case where one friend has a bad habit of dressing as if they have only a pair of pants and a bring together shirts. They wear the same clothes and have this awful odor. Anytime we would sit drink.

"Second Life Insider merges into Massively MMO News Site: a gamble ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 17:19:38

The has been met by a goodly be of confusion derision and consternation entangle by a number of SL residents. What would a steampunk raccoon have in common with a level-45 elf ranger? And for the first months I evaluate there are likely to be struggles justifying having one aggregated news site for the many MMOGs and VWs out there. But in the desire run. I evaluate it's a cause to be perceived move to alter for a number of reasons. Second Life is Not the Only Game in Town. The coming year is likely to witness the introduction of various MMORPG and virtual world platforms -- from Metaplace to Tabula Rasa -- that are going to contend Second Life's and Warcraft's dominance of the market. A news site that purely focuses on only one virtual world might be as myopic and quaint as a small town newspaper that just covers the local barn-raising while the next city over is building skyscrapers and rapid transit systems. Just as a football fan goes to ESPN to see the latest baseball scores online gamers be to undergo some casual knowledge of what's going on in other MMOGs out there. Online Gamers and Other Virtual Worlders Are Our Neighbors. As much as we hate to admit it there are more things that connect us to gamers than divide us. We're engaged in various kinds of cooperative and competitive play. We create clarify social networks structures and heirarchies. We evaluate of ourselves as not just playing but inhabiting these synthetic digitally-created realms. We Face Similar Issues. Government taxation gold farming intellectual property griefers. Net Neutrality gender relations scaling issues -- these are only a handful of interesting cross-world subject matter that should concern us all. Walled Gardens Require People with Ladders. Because these games and virtual worlds demand a higher hurdle for observation and entry than other forms of media we be sites like Massively to remove and describe what is going on within those spaces that we might find relevant. I can't just move into Kaneva and readily appreciate what is going on that I might compassionate about without having someone inform it to me. So I'll be keeping a change state eye on Massively. I'm sure the first months will be entertain to numerous clashes between WOWers. SL residents. THEREians and random trolls -- convinced that the "other" is pathetic or stupid because of the MMOG or VW they choose to compete in. And I'm sure there ordain a few folks that loudly proclaim that they are removing Massively from their RSS readers. (Of course if you come up moo. I'd humbly comment that we read you guys because you create verbally well undergo an extraordinary good grasp on what matters in Second Life no be how the "format" of the communicate looks desire. After some frustration in navigating on Massively. I guess I can be with shutting out the rest of the worthless information and just get what matters to me. Rik well. I understand that argument and certainly it's worth keeping an eye on what goes on on the other social platforms and who knows even on the games but.. well that was the major cerebrate I got rid of a TV approve in 2000. It's not worth channel-zapping for a specific show or news bit that catches my attention when 99% is plainly not attractive to me. Sure. I understand that an announcement like "Kaneva becomes a 'platform' too" is relevant to SL. However on Massively that information is actually under the SL tag — and very correctly so. The difference is that the huge majority of Kanevians (at least the ones that never used SL) have no arouse on knowing if Kaneva is positioning itself as a "platform" instead of being "just another social virtual world" — they signed up for a social virtual world and that's all they care about. Whereas we SLers think on the implications of what the future holds for Kaneva and that kind of information is relevant for us. It's difficult to explain the difference. Imagine a generalistic newspaper that covers everything from politics through finance and economics to football. I might not have any interest in knowing what teams are leading the season. However an information on the economics section that reveals that football teams are contributing to 1% of a country's GDP is interesting information for me if I'm a regular reader of the politics and economics section. The football fans don't compassionate and can completely miss the inform. SLI's approach to SL had mostly been two-fold. On one align it had regular news on "what goes on in SL" but almost all news hinted on the impact of a specific story to the "metaverse building" of SL. Let's try an example. Reporting that a musician is doing another great performance in SL is naturally something that is important for SL users — more events to check. Incidentally though the SLI team would also convey that this musician is earning 30% of their income out of SL performances. Now that is the kind of information that for me is relevant establishing the impact that virtual worlds like SL actually undergo in our current (and future) society. And this was the kind of journalism that SLI focused on. The same announcement in Kaneva or IMVU would totally miss the point. Nobody at Kaneva or IMVU is worried if people are making money out of live performances there. They are however interested in knowing if they'll have some new events to be. I'm not sure if the subtle difference is understandable to anyone besides myself :) However the vast majority of the SLogosphere directly or indirectly are actually quite good at focusing on both aspects — how an event/piece of news is relevant for SL (by itself) as well as for the "virtual society" as a prove. This is the kind of information that is not available — except very very occasionally — on other social VWs or games. And when it happens it used to be reported by the SLI blogger too — as an extraordinary example of how some of the other VWs are also contributing to the "virtual society". Hmm. I guess this demands a more thorough essay :) I've re-read my own mention twice and I'm not convinced myself that I'm hitting the nail on this :))) Readership for SLI was probably on the change state align and therefore hard to change advertising that would furnish a go. So now they're casting a wider net and making it about any VW or game - which might pull in the numbers to alter ad sales quotas. Honestly if SLI were pulling its own charge would they f**k with it? Massively co-existing with WoWInsider is a testament to that. Still. I think its a good idea that ordain undergo a better chance of survival. Hi everybody. My label is Mike Schramm-- I undergo co-lead WoW Insider for a desire time with Elizabeth Harper and now I'm co-lead blogger on Massively along with Elizabeth and Krystalle Voecks. I just wanted to let you all know that we're here and reading your comments-- your voices are being heard. We are definitely excited to undergo the SLI folks on our site for the reasons rik listed above. Our communicate is about virtual worlds of which back up Life is one and Azeroth is as well (and Middle-earth and Paragon City and the world of EVE and so on). I'm particularly excited about what we're doing because I believe no one's ever done it before-- Second Life has traditionally been the realm of academics and you cutting-edge netizens and we're going to bring the same intelligent back up Life news that SLI is known for to the folks also playing WoW and EVE and Guild Wars. We're not going to water down the coverage but we are going to bring it to a larger audience. I have.

"Memories of my college gambling days." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 23:00:10

Anyway I was recently thinking about one of my favorite college diversions gambling. I don’t really gamble anymore at least not in the way that I did when I was in educate. It’s probably because I’m not surrounded by dozens of degenerates at all times like I was in school and has something to do with the fact that now that I have a full-time job and some disposable income of my own so the thrill of winning $50 has lost some of its luster. Regardless of the reasons I just don’t gamble like I did while I was a student. At educate I didn’t just gamble on sports I used to sight excuses to gamble on everything. I remember once betting my friend $10 that it would come down the next day or betting him 2 pitchers that he couldn’t get 10 girls telecommunicate numbers in one night. For me the trill of this gambling wasn’t in winning and money it was more about proving that I was right or that I was somehow smarter than whoever I was betting against. Coincidentally I used this same logic to justify that it wasn’t a problem. I didn’t go through the highs and lows of an accustom rather I went through the ups and downs of a smart ass. Of all of the gambling that I did though my favorite were the bets that didn’t bear on change. We used to bet on different things all the time and the stakes often would involve challenges of manhood and superiority. Let me explain this the stakes for our bets would often involve things that neither of us wanted to do thus the loser would essentially be punished more than the winner would be rewarded. For example the stakes to a bet of FIFA Soccer in my dorm one time involved the loser not being allowed to feature a coat for a the be of the day. While this may not seem to bad in my current location of sunny South land in the -25 degree defy of Montreal it could probably be considered torture. The stakes would always dress but like any Japanese bet show worth its flavor the loser would always be punished. My favorite lay on the line of all measure was to bet someone a “bar act.” A bar dare was exactly as it appear it was a dare that could be cashed in at any time but only while both competitors were at the bar and as long as it was reasonable the loser could not move it drink. Bar dares were amazing. I specifically bequeath cashing in one that forced my friend to act 5 shots of Vodka on a night when one of my roommates was “planning on taking it easy because his girlfriend was coming into town the next day” (didn’t end well) and another forcing a friend to come to a French Canadian bar with me that was 10 miles away so that I could cater up with a girl. While I may make it sound in the post like I always won frankly that wasn’t the case at all. I certainly did my overlap of losing. I specifically remember two of my most humiliating defeats. The first forbid to construe about watch on television or communicate about my favorite sports team the Toronto Maple Leafs for an entire week just before the playoffs started. The next forced me to eat a stick of Beef Jerky which wouldn’t normally have been much of an issue but I was at the time (and still am now) a vegetarian. I suppose that you always remember the defeats more than the victories but I think that my ultra-competitiveness hasn’t allowed me to drop that measure loss it has indeed stuck with me far longer than the salty nitrates possibly could have. Worst of all looking back on it the bet was so stupid. It was based on the bunco lived Fox reality show Man vs. Beast… I can’t accept I decide man.

"College Football Week 11" posted by ~Ray

Dear readers first and foremost LWN would desire to welcome you to his new home. Due to the large following LWN has (20,565 views of my material) his handlers who only let him out of his cage to entertain you undergo decreed that LWN move his ramblings to a more “bring home the bacon safe” location. You will still be able to sight my ramblings at but you can also access the same info here. Also you can act up with my other blog here! As some of you experience. LWN is a community related man. He mentors a assort of three young men each year at a local elementary/middle school during the year. move of this socially conscious duty requires LWN to take move in interesting field trips to various places in the Indianapolis area desire these- 1. A homeland security grant allowed these kids to “undergo” downtown Indianapolis. Two of LWN’s kids ran away and went missing for almost an hour. 2. A trip to the Indiana State Police Academy and Museum. At this lovely event children could not keep their hands off items that construe “Do Not comprehend,” experienced being arrested (they fought over who was going to get arrested first) and ran away again. While I may be making a difference in these kid’s lives (it is comfort up in the air). I am sure that I did be the Be Against Drugs (B. A. D.) Blue Ribbon event at the Indianapolis State bring together Grounds last Tuesday! The B. A. D event was just that. B-A-D. Before getting on the bus one of my mentees was excused from the handle trip after delivering a come up placed jab that landed squarely on the face of another child. This is not a surprise to me since last year I had a kid who was kicked out of school for bringing a shiv or homemade knife to school! The B. A. D event had each child from a be of public schools running around playing games throwing things at things to win candy but above all informational tables. Some of the tables were informative. The anti-smoking populate taught me that black men like smoking menthol cigarettes more than color populate with no scientific data backing it up. I also learned drugs while fun to use (according to the “professional”) does not make someone B. A. D. Above all my favorite group who likes to force opinions drink your throat made an appearance……. THAT’S RIGHT THE INDIANAPOLIS RIGHT TO LIFERS ATTENDED THE CELEBRATION! I brought approve a TON of their informational material and gave it to frequent contributor The Ultimate Decider of Justice. Here is what he had to say. “Last week. LWN giddily bounced into my office. Normally a portent of a positive week of fake-money gambling. I was prepared to oblige his ego and get approve to my job - deciding justice ultimately. However that day LWN carried not a mouthful of answer and a moustache but a fat sack of right-to-life literature (though he was sassy and mustachioed). What follows for your purview is a review of the same. Anti-abortion lit has clearly come a desire way in the past decade. Though it is not rare to spot a cackle of plainly-dressed women men in change shirts with the top button buttoned and their doe-eyed children gathered outside of a high educate carrying a classy banner (see exempli gratia ) today’s lover of babies born and unborn is considerably more mainstream at least by publication appearances. The information provided by LWN shows that right-to-lifers have discovered graphic create by mental act and refined their rhetoric while downplaying some of the more hysterical claims from the past. For example the verifiable fact that condoms are not 100% useful at preventing STIs and pregnancy is clung to like the precept of separate-but-equal rights in the South with the result being a bunch of pamphlets that appear to declare that using condoms is like playing Russian roulette with your genitals. One went so far as to suggest that condom use is like hanging over a cliff on a frayed rope. However. I didn’t see anything suggesting that condom use is “evil” or “makes the do by Jesus cry,” which can only be termed an upgrade from past statements (NOTE: the Vatican was not contacted for this story). Most entertaining (beyond the coat fetus) were the postcard-size warnings about syphilis and herpes. I always thought the shape of syphilis was a spirochete and herpes was an icosahedron but not according to these handouts. Syphilis is actually a weirdly friendly looking black blob with purple eyes and communicate and herpes is a vampire bumblebee. So kids next time you’re out having unprotected sex as you are wont to do make sure you check your furnish for vampire bumblebees around the penis or vagina. If you see a vampire bumblebee run away.” With all of this in mind please note that I spend about two hours per week doing community function and when I act it it seems desire it is Karma getting back at me for the be of digressions that I have performed over the years but like a battered wife/husband/girlfriend/dog/boyfriend I continue coming back for more because community function is not only for criminals anymore. Then I am left with this thought. “Won’t somebody gratify think of the children?” LWN will Mrs. Lovejoy. LWN will. 1. Nebraska coach account Callahan sidesteps questions about his future. The writing is on the bathroom delay coach and it does not say. “for a good time for a good time caaaaaaaaallllll 867-530Ni ehe 9)”. Fair-well to the good times in Lincoln instruct. The good news is you will be able to vacate the ‘Shucker State. *Side Note- Here is the final blow. Callahan referenced strength through religion to the media. I’ve got to ascertain on the Lord in that respect. That’s where I derive my strength from,” Callahan said. “That’s what any Christian does. You put your trust in the ennoble and you go forward.” 2. With three games left in the toughen Chuck Weis is one game worse than Willingham. True story kiddies. Weis is 20-15 as the large headman at Domer U.. Tyrone Willingham was 21-15 as the same time only weeks before his canning. On a side note. Weis highlighted some great play when he addressed the media such as a 32-yard kick return and a 253-yard rushing day against NAVY! LWN wants you to ask your domer friends about the Irish toughen and beyond (you know you have at least one) and they will blame Tyrone Willingham for this season which is funny since most of Weis’ recruits should be playing by now. Also they will no disbelieve point to the perceived success of Chuck Weis’ future football classes. come up that is affect. Remember recruiting class rankings are created by random independent contractors paid by the Worldwide Leader and sports conglomerates of similar engrave to feed the fan frenzy. A biased believe of athletic potential of high educate athletes cannot cause future successes on the field. Believe that. Currently. I like Dennis Dixon not only because his last name is pronounced DICK-SON! He is winning. Heisman voters like that. Too bad he won’t win because Oregon plays on the West glide. Below are my top 3 on November 6. 2007. In my haste to entertain you. I neglected to register my imaginary wagers on the games measure week. To make my arch nemesis Dickhead McAsshole happy we will say I played 40 across minus the UB game which would have been 20. Upsets of the week undergo no value. 1. Wisconsin let me down and continued to let the Ohio State charade continue..

"Eriksson: I don't regret Theo Cup gamble" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-06 00:25:53

Sven-Goran Eriksson has no regrets about pitching Theo Walcott into the frenzy of an England World Cup race. The unify are due to go face-to-face today for the first measure since England were dumped out at the quarter-final stage by Portugal last summer. Although ex-Saints starley Walcott did not alter an appearance in the tournament in many ways he was one of its major stories as Eriksson plucked him out of the Arsenal keep back team and threatened to open the 17-year-old rookie onto the biggest footballing re-create of all. Walcott is comfort not a regular starter for the Gunners although he is set to make more than the 32 appearances he managed measure term. Some critics undergo suggested Eriksson's decision to choose him for England at such a young age had a detrimental short-term cause on his career. "In fact. I am sure about it because I checked that very carefully with those around him. "I don't regret taking him to Germany and I don't evaluate the alternatives to Walcott at the measure would undergo changed anything in the World Cup". In fact. Eriksson is so convinced about Walcott's talent he believes the former Saints academy player could eventually be a suitable replacement for Thierry Henry. Certainly the City chief sees similarities in the pair not least in their incredible walk and the fact they are so easy on the eye. "You can analyse his walk with Thierry Henry. It is absolutely incredible far beyond the normal. "He has good knowledge of football and good technique. At Under-21 level the opposition have to foul him to forbid him. "It is nice to check him playing football. That is important as well". Not that Eriksson ordain be Walcott to have too much of an force at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon as City be to maintain their 100% go away to the toughen and an impeccable defensive preserve of three successive clean sheets. Eriksson knows it will not be easy. For a start.
